  1. I really don't think the Tigers hit Abreu on purpose. I think they (like everyone else) were pitching him tight inside. But I don't think there was any malice to the pitch. The situation didn't really make sense for it.
  2. Do suspensions carry over into the playoffs? I worry about this weekend. Even if we have someone like Mike Wright or Matt Foster put one into Miggy's ribs, I worry more about the bench clearing fracas and suspensions from that. Sox could not even re-instigate but the Tigers pitchers very well may.
  3. Do we really think further expansion is going to happen? That would be so awful. I hated the 2nd wild card, and have at least come around to that. But adding another 2 teams would be TURRRRRRIIBBBBLLLLLEEEEE
  4. Seriously? The first sentence is spot on. The 2nd two are comical AF as it related to Jose.
  5. Because IT IS 5.32 with the Sox. That is probably why haha.
  6. Yeah, the Iowa restrictions are brutal. Sorry to hear that.
  7. Let's rattle off some Ws boys. Don't think we'll catch Houston, but it would be fun to make it interesting, and at least play some encouraging ball the last week.
  8. I dropped YTTV about a year ago. Liked the service, but I live in MN and when they got into a spat with FSN and lost access, I went back to Comcast. It ended up close to a wash cost wise because Comcast was bending me over the chair for internet without TV. For baseball, assuming you don't have blackout issues, MLB.tv is the easy choice. I've used it for decades as an out of market fan. I may actually switch to mlb extra innings next year, but that is moreso because for some reason I am unable to figure out, MLB.tv buffers on every tv in my new house except the living room. So I am kind of stuck watching games there, which my wife certainly gets annoyed about. I'd love to watch the Sox in my basement or bedroom, but it just skips too much.
  9. We're on the same page. He was definitely looking to make contact if Goodrum got in his way, but the slide was legal as you said. Honestly, I loved to see it. Team needed something like that. I was just in Cleveland and watched them play 4 pretty darn flat games after Thursday's clinch. Maybe this will light the fire under their ass they need heading into next week.
  10. The "back half" of the pen isn't going to be on the playoff roster. I agree Keuchel should make a couple pen appearances the next 5 games as I don't see him making a start in the ALDS (hopefully at all - but may be necessary as I think Carlos is toast). But a playoff pen of Hendriks, Kimbrel, Bummer, Tepera, Kopech, Crochet, Lopez and Keuchel is far from dismal.
  11. He slid directly into the bag. Yes Goodrum was there, but if he really wanted contact, he could have slid inside the bag. In any event, I would large sums of money he isn't getting suspended.
  12. The bullpen is going to be rested regardless. They have M/Tu/Wed/Sat off next week.
  13. By far the worst part of MLB.tv. Between that and having connectivity issues in certain parts of my new house, I think I am going to do the MLB package next year. Its only marginally more expensive, and you get mlb.tv with it too.
  14. 2.5 GB of Astros for HFA. Houston has 3 with Rays and 3 with a (potentially) desperate A's squad. I am rooting for A's to win 2/3 or sweep Mariners so they have something to play for this weekend. Unlikely to catch Houston to be sure, but not impossible.
  15. Zero punches thrown. There aren't going to be suspensions. Yes Crochet was in the middle of the argument and was yelling, but you don't get suspended for yelling and jumping.
  16. For a hard slide right into the bag? He didn't even go directly at Goodrum. Jose isn't getting suspended.
  17. He's been pretty great defensively this season, but the last week or so has been rough.
  18. He's so terrible. Even his hits all just soft seeing eye singles.
  19. We were scheduled to face both Castillo and Gray, so nice to get an MLB debut instead.
  20. Hopefully Leury. I guess it depends on Engel. If Engel isn't healthy enough to play, I guess you don't have a ton of options besides Eloy-Robert-Vaughn with Sheets at DH. Otherwise I'd prefer Engel in RF, Vaughn in LF and Eloy at DH. Just really hope TLR doesn't get cute and sit Vaughn on the bench in favor of Sheets at DH, Leury in RF and Cesar at 2B. If Leury is starting, its hopefully at 2B.
  21. Vaughn hasn't played LF since his return, which I think is pretty telling. We're going to get an Eloy-Robert-Vaughn OF in the playoffs with Sheets at DH. Not how I would do it, but its pretty clear that is the plan.
  22. Yermin hasn’t played a game in AAA in awhile and his playing time was cut a lot previously. He’s not even on Charlotte’s active roster and is on “temporary inactive list”. Not exactly sure what deal is but I think org has moved on.
  23. Perhaps. Looks like he’s not even on active roster right now. Temporary inactive list. Guess org is just done with him.
  24. I think he already is a superstar.
  25. Yeah that too if they have the balls to leave Keuchel off the roster or Carlos can’t pitch. I’d be surprised if they did the former.
