  1. There is next to 0% chance that Yermin will be DFA'd in 2021. A demotion could be in order though - problem is, they don't exactly have any better options. For now, I would run Lamb out there against RHP. Wouldn't be opposed to giving Sheets a run at it.
  2. I am not that worried Vaughn at all. Keeping running him out there. Yermin? I think its ovah for him. There is absolutely zero reason to throw him a strike and everyone in the MLB knows it.
  3. Eloy can’t come back soon enough. The Yermin magic is longggggg gone.
  4. Hope these two missed it doing laundry.
  5. I mean, I obviously know that. The point remains tho. It’s incredible .
  6. Eloy (and/or Luis) back anytime between the ASG and August 15 would be a nice W.
  7. Ahhhh....i totally misread that as two thoughts. "This is probably his last" "and hurrah (hurray) for Sox" I am not a huge Leury guy by any means, but its good thing he's been around. The less he plays the better, but its good to have a guy like that around. Its not like we have anything behind him that would be more exciting. This is probably his last season is a Sox uni, though. But there is no way he doesn't survive the season, barring injury.
  8. Haha, Leury is a as safe as safe can be
  9. Soxtalk game thread in 2 acts (see post 3 previous to this one).
  10. Like it or not, this is going to Mendick's job for the next few weeks. Several people were clamoring for him a month or two ago instead of Madrigal. I guess they'll get their wish.
  11. Yes. Yes he thinks they should give up. And he's going to tell us all why, and then backtrack in a few days and tell us that he was just upset and that is his way of coping. Rinse. Repeat. Rinse. Repeat.
  12. Can we get Madrigal added to the banner, and then subsequently shaded out?
  13. So if they go the rest and rehab route, is it even possible to return in Aug/Sep? Would assume so, otherwise they'd just do the surgery.
  14. I would suspect that if a starter goes down anytime after about July 15th, we have a pretty good guy to step in and take that spot. I am not all that concerned about adding SP depth atm.
  15. Ketel Marte is a really good player, but he's not a top 10 player in the game. C'mon. He's had a nice 21 to date, but let's not get carried away with a 100 PA sample. He was amazing in 2019...no doubt about it. I also don't think the sox have what it takes to get Marte without subtracting from the active roster (which I don't see them doing) and have said as much in this thread today.
  16. Fair. The forearm tightness is concerning. Had not heard about that until last night. Generally speaking, I don't think teams would be overly concerned about the early performance a 19 YO that profiles very well first taste of professional baseball. But yeah, if he's on the road to TJS, that would certainly hamper value some I would imagine. Realistically, Kelley/Dalquist/Thompson are our best bullets. Which isn't great. But I don't see Hahn substracting from the young core at the MLB level.
  17. Speaking of Foster. Probably time for some AAA reps for him.
