Start Packing for Houston - ALDS Games 1&2 Oct 7/8th

Featured Replies

Let's get ready Sox fans. Games one and two will be the 7th and 8th. Times TBD. Make those hotel reservations now, let's take over the Downtown Westin (4 blocks from Minute Maid). Team will stay at the Four Seasons a few blocks away.

Games 3&4 (if the Sox don't sweep) in Chicago, Sunday and Monday the 10/11th)

(May not want to book non-refundable flights just yet, however)

  • No Eloy, Robert, or Grandal in that game.  Goodwin was batting clean up, so that tells you everything you need to know. McCullers should be the one who is scared.

  • According to Reddit, there's an incredibly thin chance the 'Stros miss the playoffs. Astros lose out (4 games) Mariners win out (3 games) Boston wins out (4 games) WC #2 Y

Thanks but I was referring to the flight, hotel, and game tickets… of course. ?

This is actually a really well timed thread, FWIW. Looks like the on sale is Monday.

A very limited number of tickets will be available online beginning Monday, September 20th at 1:00pm CT for the 2021 Hankook American League Wild Card Game and the American League Division Series (ALDS) home games. TICKETS ARE VERY LIMITED AND ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE.

The dates in the title are different than the dates in the first post.

Yea, apparently I can't read a calendar... Went back and fixed it, games one and two, the 7th and 8th.

Are these tickets for whichever game the Sox are at home for regardless of which game it is?

The post says 6th & 7th.

The link posted is for the games at Houston.

The stub hub links are for all the games.

I have got a bunch of airline and hotel points, and I am looking at cashing in if I can get tickets.

Don’t see how they won’t be afternoon games to be honest. Especially if New York or Boston advances past wild card game.

If you go to Minute Maid, do not get in the line for the Shake Shack during the game. Get there early if you want to go to that. You will miss at least half an inning, maybe a full inning.

I refuse to.

Same if you are at Citi Field.

Flights are super cheap round trip to Houston... like under $100 cheap. Really want to book but still holding out on the hope games 1 and 2 will be in Chicago.

My daughter lives in Houston. I'm booking her guest room.

The rematch of teams that played in the '05 WS seems strange. I wish Houston stayed in the NL and Milwaukee in the AL.

I hope Houston Astros  announcer Geoff Blum still has vivid memories of his '05 WS game 3 shot that practically sealed the deal for the Sox..

Geoff  is one of  the players enshrined with a bronze statue off 35th street.

im very happy the Brewers are NOT in the AL.

These will probably all be noon games unfortunately, god i hate the east coast

I'd wait a bit on this.

The Astros are now only 4 games out from the Rays.   Rays have the Blue Jays, Astros, and Yankees remaining on their schedule.

If you happen to get tickets on Monday, I guarantee you will be able to re-sell them if the Astros wind up as the #1 seed.

Houston catching Tampa is the best thing that could happen for the White Sox.

I want the White Sox to avoid the wildcard winner and think the Sox match up better with Tampa.

Maybe it is 4D chess to sit back and watch as the other teams grind it out.

Who knows how it will play out but that Tampa schedule is a nightmare.

Is there anyone out here who actually has the list prices for the different seating areas in Houston?  The seat prices don't look awful, but if they might drop more after Monday, I could wait instead of buying third party.
