Our team has sooo much more talent.  I’m pumped

We have so much more pitching talent.  Our offense is similar.  Gotta pitch!

I'll give them the offensive edge since we have 3 "weak spots", they have 2.

  • No Eloy, Robert, or Grandal in that game.  Goodwin was batting clean up, so that tells you everything you need to know. McCullers should be the one who is scared.

  • According to Reddit, there's an incredibly thin chance the 'Stros miss the playoffs. Astros lose out (4 games) Mariners win out (3 games) Boston wins out (4 games) WC #2 Y

Gavin emerging as a serious RHP killer has improved the lineup substantially. Weakest spot might be RF and that's only because Engel hasn't been healthy all year. Hopefully him or Vaughn get hot

I would feel a lot more comfortable with our pitching if we had a healthy Rodon capable of still throwing in the upper 90s. He absolutely owned the Astros in his 2 starts against them.

Thursday is probably a 3 or 3:30 start because there only two games that day.  Friday will have four games so there's probably like a noon, 3, 6, and 8 game or something along those lines.

Noon would be such a disaster.

I really hope we get thrown a bone and get a night game on Friday, even if the Yankees are in. Day game Thursday is fine, just make it equitable so Sox fans who have to work dont have to miss both games.

I don't think Sox/Astros will get the first game on Friday.  I'd guess the 2nd.

My guess for Friday: 1pmCT (Brewers/Braves); 330pm (Astros/Sox); 6pm (Rays/AL WC); 830pm (Giants/NL WC)

We're for sure going to get the afternoon game on Thursday tho, just hoping itll be 3pm or later.

Braves/Brewers is already on the TBS guide as 3:30 next Friday fwiw.  I’m sticking with 3p on Thursday and 2p on Friday on FS1 unless the Yankees and Red Sox are both gone.

Interesting.

Don't you expect the schedule to be set Sunday night / Monday am before WC games are played?  Would be tough for them to switch game times on people a day or two in advance.

Yes, I think the entire Division Series schedule will be announced Sunday evening.

This is gonna be my guess

Thursday: Sox at Houston 3:15, WC winner at Tampa Bay 7:15

Friday: Sox at Houston 3:15, Atlanta at Milwaukee 5:15, WC winner at Tampa Bay 7:15, WC winner at San Francisco 9:15

Sunday: Atlanta at Milwaukee 3:15, WC winner at San Francisco 7:15

Monday: Houston at Sox 3:15, Tampa Bay at WC winner 7:15

ALDS games are Thu/Fri and Sun/Mon.

NLDS games are Fri/Sat and Mon/Tues.

Pretty sure they play games as early noon when there are 4 LDS games.

Last year on days when there were 4 games they were scheduled like this (in central time):

1:08pmCT; 3:37pmCT; 7:10pmCT; 8:38pmCT

and days with 2 games were 3:07pmCT and 7:07pmCT.

Weird. You think they would try to give each game a 3 hour block starting around noon, 3, 6, west coast game at 9.

Yeah I don't know why I skipped Saturday. Those last two days should be Saturday and Sunday.

I'll be getting there Friday morning for game 2 staying with a friend downtown. I'm also going to game 3 in Chicago so Saturday being an off day gives me some much needed cushion. (this is assuming the Sox don't get the 2 seed because that changes my plans completely)

Are yall going to the game? I'm in Dallas, was in Houston for the series earlier this year, its not a bad drive.

Guess the Yanks will be hosting the wild card.

If the wild card team beats the Rays, do Sox get home field advantage in ACLS based on seeding 2 vs 4 or records still in play?

Wild card can't have HFA in ALCS

Thx!

I agree with everyone that Sox will probably not get a night game Thurs or Fri.

But damn, everyone's gonna want to see the Astros get beat so it could actually be a high viewership game.

Truthfully I just want to be able to watch after work.

The TV schedule is one reason I don’t discount the regular season for the postseason as much as others on this board. My work really heats up in the fall, and I will probably be able to watch the Sunday game only.

I got a couple of seats in the Crawford boxes to Game 2 in Houston.  Will be Friday night if Houston stays on for HFA.

Update: If anyone is interested, this will be the Friday game. I did get Game 3 tickets in Chicago,  so if anyone is interested, I will sell these  tickets for Game 2 in Houston for list price if anyone is interested.

Might as well join the party, I have 2 tickets for Friday, section 109 row 36, 19/20.  Willing to sell for face value.
