  1. That was fun! Yermin gonna hit one in the back tomorrow from Pineda eh
  2. I will be there tonight (and tomorrow) cheering on the boys! Lets get a dub! Sad to see Jose will miss the series. Twins have a career infielder playing center tonight tho cuz Kepler got hurt yesterday too. They're just as banged up as we are. Let's find a way to get a W tonight!
  3. Well that sucks. At least the Twins are equally as banged up. 2/3 would be nice. Let's start with the W tonight.
  4. Why tho? I too think Madrigal needs to hit for some XBH rather than just being a pure singles hitter, but picking some arbitrary number as the cut off seems silly. He is currently on pace for around 35 XBH, and I don't think we've seen the best of him by any means. The doubles and triples and perhaps occasional homer will come. Not directed at you really - but people are trying to jam a square peg into a round hole around here with Madrigal. He is a unique player. He just needs to be really good at what he does well. This lineup has plenty of power - I still feel like he's a fantastic fit for a this team (when its fully healthy especially), and will be for years to come. We don't need our 9 hitter to hit 20 homers. That said, Madrigal has been pretty bad offensively lately so hopefully he snaps out of it soon.
  5. Where Madrigal was drafted is completely irrelevant at this juncture. Madrigal isn't a power hitter. When this lineup is healthy, it is oozing with power and the last thing they need Nick to do is provide power. They need him to play good defense, hit .300+ and not strike out. Madrigal is struggling a bit the last two weeks, but he is going to be fine. He just needs to become the best version of Madrigal, not some power hitting 2B or whatever mold fans think they need to get with the #4 overall pick.
  6. Have to imagine Hendriks is unavailable today unless really needed. We know he'll take the ball, but I'd use Bummer in a save situation in this first game. Maybe use Hendriks in the 2nd game if necessary.
  7. I mean if there’s ever a day to DFA Lamb, it’s tomorrow. Just not sure who would take his spot.
  8. Ummm Hamilton deserves more PT at this point. Two catches today to save the game that Leury probably doeS not make.
  9. Can Rutherford fake it in CF or nah?
  10. Yeah, I mean options are there to protect the player. But I hear ya.
  11. He doesn't have options, so it would be a DFA. I think they'll give him a bit more time before they send him packing.
  12. I think by rule we now need to post dog pics in every gameday thread until the Sox lose.
  13. The blue gets to sleep in bed with us. Shes our baby. The merle is a puppy and she hasn’t earned that respect. But she joins me in the am for an hour or so when my wife gets up for work. But yes - the dogs are the bosses of my house.
  14. Would be nice to get him in games. Annoying this visa issue is still lingering.
  15. Wouldn't Hamilton's utility come with taking over for Vaughn in LF late in games, which Tony is obsessed with doing even though Vaughn has been better than fine out there. I suppose Leury could do that too. Obviously Engel is starting in CF In this hypothetical. I don't mind Hamilton as the last man on this roster as long as he isn't overused - that is, strictly used in pinch running and late inning defense. I was cool with the Lamb signing - always been a fan of his. But he really has no purpose on this roster at this point other than Moncada's injury replacement.
  16. Yeah, I guess. I am personally not in love with Gallo by any means, but he's probably the best fit. I would hate a Crochet for Gallo deal. I also would really prefer not to deal Kelley or Cespedes. If you could get him for something headlined by Thompson/Dalquist, with secondary pieces like Adolfo/Rutherford/Gonzalez and Ramos/Bailey/Rodriguez/Gladney, sure I'd do it. But I don't see that happening. One thing I do know - Gallo would quickly join Yaz as the Soxtalk whipping boys.
  17. Unless you're moving Eaton to CF, all Bryant does is put Yermin or Vaughn on the bench. Obviously he's a great hitter that you make space in the linup for, but if you gotta give up Crochet for 3 months of him while not really solving the problem...I'll pass. If they're gonna add someone, it needs to be someone who can play CF passably.
  18. I literally said I was referring to last year and that he deserves criticism for this year. Tho that .390 OBP at this point is pretty nice. Yes, people who constantly bad mouthed Grandal last year are clueless bafoons. He was hands down one of the best 2-3 catchers in the game.

    Rodon

Too bad Sox didn’t get like a $5 or $6M option. Oh well. If he stays healthy and can pitch 180+ innings this year, even if/when the obvious regression comes, someone will pay him. And it shouldn’t be the Sox. If he somehow continues to pitch like a Cy Young candidate all season, 4/$60M is probably the floor and that prices in his history.
  20. He wasn’t even outplayed last year really.

Not if this continues. Nor should they pay the price. Long way to go to 180+ IP tho for Carlos.
