Haha yeah that was pretty comical. At least he deferred to Leury! -
Luis Robert grade 3 strain/torn Hip Flexor, est. out 12-16 weeks

Really? I would imagine Cave would play CF and Larnach LF. I think they’d also play Kepler there before Larnach. -

Kirilloff is hurt too. Bad wrist. -
I get the argument for sure, but Yermin is the clear #4 between those guys and is the obvious odd man out. Doesn't mean you need to trade him, but you definitely aren't trading Eloy or Vaughn to make room for a 28 year old rookie. Now, this is a good problem to have (if it even presents itself). You aren't sitting Eloy next season for Yermin to get at bats, but you can keep him around and chances are decent that you can still make a role for Yermin and he'll be needed for stretches when people get hurt. Which is probably going to happen a decent amount if you're running out an Eloy-Robert-Vaughn OF. That all being said - let's see what Yermin's season looks like come August/September. He's been remarkable through 94 PA, but chances are we still see a pretty real correction.

Well in this case, he has $1.5M more guaranteed and still controls his own destiny once he clears waivers. Baseball players don't really take buyouts. It makes no sense. Just tell the team to release you and pay you your guaranteed $ if they don't want you on their team. As a player, zero reason to take a pay cut - the end result is the same, except for the amount of $ you're due.
-
I'd say the defense has been better than "good enough". He's looked comfortable, and as far as I am concerned, he should be our LF moving forward.
-
In other words, Nicks already a really solid baseball player.
-
Buyouts don’t really happen in baseball. Why the heck would you take $28.5M when you’re guaranteed $30M?

Nah there is already a three way time for first. Cleveland takes the division lead by a 0.5 game over the Sox with a W today. -

Yeah, well...right now they don't exactly have a plethora of other options. Especially with Eaton banged up. Point is, Hamilton actually has a role to play on this club if we can get some personnel to cover CF when Leury need play elsewhere or ideally sits his on the bench where it comes. Mentioned it yesterday, but Sox should pick up Ben Gamel. He's probably a better option than Goodwin. Not sure how well he can cover CF tho, but he's made over 30 appearances there is his career. -
Twins got quite a hole to dig out of. They need to go 34-26 in their next 60 games just to get to .500. They aren't dead yet, but without great pitching its going to be tough. Oh, and it looked like Buxton tweaked a hammy in the 9th today.

Hamilton isn't going anywhere at this point. And honestly, that is fine. But he should get very very very very few at bats and be used pretty much exclusively as late inning defensive replacement or pinch running. -

Yeah, but I don't think you can get him without 1 of Crochet, Kelley or Cespedes. Not to mention others guys on the MLB roster. If you could get him for something headliked by Thompson/Dalquist, with secondary pieces like Adolfo/Rutherford/Gonzalez and Ramos/Bailey/Rodriguez/Gladney, sure I'd do it. But I don't see that happening. -
THANK THE LORD HAVE MERCY! Not that Boob know anything.
-
Yeah I hope not. The thought of him being on this roster is terrifying. He adds nothing.
-
At least he got DFAd. Won’t be a FA for at least a few days...hopefully Hahn can come up with something better before JR/TLR make him do it.
-
This wouldn’t help...
-
Except you damn well know TLR plays his multiple times a week over Yermin. We need dudes who can the OF. Not the corpse of Pujols. As soon as I saw he was getting released I knew this shit was gonna happen.

Ben Gamel DFAd. Should get him in Charlotte. Just keep signing guys like this til someone sticks. -
Is there any video available of TLR postgame comments?
-
Yermin was not available. Already used. Eaton also not available. But yeah, anyone but Hamilton there.
-
Vaughn definitely looks the part in LF and I can confidently say he is a better LF than Eloy at this point. Eloy days of playing the OF should be mostly over. I am fine working him in at 1B/DH/occasional LF start next year, and hopefully he can stick at 1B. But I see no good reason to stick Eloy back in LF and move Vaughn in to 1B. Only other scenario is honestly Vaughn has looked decent enough in LF that maybe he could handle RF on occasion in 22 when we want to run a murderer's row lineup out there, but seems like a lot to ask of the kid.

Yes I am serious. Gallo makes $6M and will make something like $8-9M next year. He’s well within the White Sox budget no matter what ridiculous narrative about ownership you care to spin. Jerry is a cheap stake when it comes to the Sox but if the Rangers would take a deal the Sox felt comfortable with, Gallos economics are not getting in the way. -

lol Gallos contract isn’t the issue. Dude hardly makes anything.
