  1. Yeah, not a fan at first blush. Not a good use of limited dollars, or Crochet.
  2. Wow. I am terrified to think what price is going to be.
  3. In what world is Moncada better against LHP?
  4. Sherman says asking price on Story has dropped, and he is now likely to move.
  5. Who takes the 5th spot in the rotation then? If you say Kopech, then Cease going into the pen isn't really improving it. Though I guess this would make some sense to maximize Kopech's innings, limit Ceases, while also getting Cease ready for that role in the postseason.
  6. Crochet is very likely gone in this scenario.
  7. Sure, if it doesn’t cost anyone on the mlb roster it’s a risk I would be willing to take in hopes JR mans up and would still let us sign a SP and RF. But I’m not giving up Crochet in that deal, and until I see it, I won’t believe JR OKs $150M+ payrolls.
  8. Now that is a deal I would do in a NY minute. Doubt Cubs would tho!
  9. He's right dude. This team cannot afford to pay 2 relievers $30M. Kimbrel takes the Sox effectively out of free agency this offseason. No thanks.
  10. I am sure that is the ask. It would be a horrible trade. I get people want to win a WS. I do too! But I value being good for 5-7 years more than taking 1 or 2 shots at it. Just my opinion. Has seemingly been Hahn's consistent theme as well. We'll see if he cracks.
  11. Agreed comptlely. Just responding to Balta's comment about Cubs eating $. I will lose alot of faith in this operation if the Sox were to ship (say) Crochet and Burger to the Cubs for Kimbrel and half his $ remaining (including next year).
  12. Just picked up 2 guys in the Cruz trade that will be options. Ober. Maybe they give Duran a shot, though he'd been bad in AAA. Jax, Thorpe and Dobnak.
  13. If the Sox are giving up more prospects to save money at this point in time, I will lose my MF mind.
  14. This. Kimbrel's only surplus value should be just "deadline surging". Dude is on a market value deal. Trading legitimate prospects for him would be a terrible move.
  15. How do you figured? Gray and Ruiz are both top 40 prospects as well. Martin is probably the best of the bunch, but Gray is a better piece than Woods-Richardson. Plus LAD got 2 other players as well. Nice reutrn for Twins tho. MArtin is the real deal. Glad it was Woods-Richardson and not Manoah.
  16. Very interested to see this package.
  17. He's a good example of why you sell high on relievers tho, especially on a shitty team. After 2018, Pirates probably could have gotten a nice return on him (putting aside well documented character issues). Fast forward a couple years, and he's DFA fodder.
  18. Well, as of now, he's probably our best reliever. So its a double edged sword. But they're going to get him some extended work down the stretch, even if its just some longer relief outings. No way the FO lets him throw 55 innings, IMO. Dude has to be in the 22 rotation. I don't think they're going to fully stretch him out, but I do still believe the Sox will give him at least 3-5 spot starts down the stretch. Picking up another good reliever today goes a long way into making that a reality.
  19. Woof. Kyle Crick is supposedly a Grade A ASSHOLE.
  20. Yes. They're only moving him IF they get a haul. And it appears they'll have their choice of a few.
