  1. Well hope Jose figures it out soon. He's a pretty easy out right now.
  2. I never really shared much of an opinion on an extension. He's a 1B/DH (at least we thought) that we could control for 7 seasons. Don't really see the point in extending Vaughn. I just would have started him at the alt site and called him up this coming weekend. Then we'd have the extra year. My stance was moreso if he is on the MLB roster, the dude should be playing most everyday. I still feel that way - but he's really scuffling, so I am OK with giving him a few more off days while he figures it out. He should still be playing some of the time, though. And his transition to LF has going very well IMO. He looks solid out there.
  3. The haters have piped down.
  4. Well, that is what happens when your 1st, 2nd and 3rd string LF get hurt, your 4th string is AAAA player that goes 0fer and the other guy getting LF reps is a 1B that hasn't played LF since middle school and looks totally overmatched at the plate. Engel will be back soon enough. I too was bitching about Vaughn not playing everyday a week or so ago, but man, he is overmatched right now. I am OK with Leury playing some LF every few days.
  5. I think Kopech is a different guy than he was in his early days with Boston. He doesn't seem to me to be a guy that would butt heads with teammates anymore. In any event, he looked great last night. Kopech has and remains the highest upside pitcher we have, and one of the highest in baseball. He has an upside as one the best SP in the game.
  6. I think the Sox would too. Which means Lynn probably is on the Sox if that’s their best offer.
  7. Just gonna make for a wildly unproductive work day. Which is rough for a Monday, for me anyways. At least with afternoon games you get half the work day under your belt. Thankfully not gonna be too many 10am weekday games.
  8. 10am on Monday baseball gets a big time woof from me.
  9. He looks good in LF. That’s about all the positive I have to say.
  10. My god dude. Relax. It’s 14 April games. The Sox look terrible right now - but blow it up? Lol GTFOH.
  11. Well, this is what happens when the guy you expected to be your cleanup hitter seriously injures himself trying to catch a ball he had 0% chance of catching in a ST game that didn't matter. Ideally, Grandal is batting 6th or 7th in this lineup. But with Eloy out, everyone gets shifted up.
  12. Lol, if I actually watch the games? GMAFB. I've watched literally probably 95% of all White Sox action since Grandal put on a White Sox jersey, and 80%+ over the last decade plus. Your problem is you just thought Grandal was a different type of hitter than he actually is. Career stat line: .239/.348/.443 2020 stat line with Sox: .230/.351/.422 2020 + 2021 Stat line with Sox: .215/.348/.398 In 2020, Grandal was literally the exact same guy he always has been. Just like I said. He doesn't hit for average, never has. Yes his shitty start to 2021 is weighing down his Sox average a bit, but I guarantee you he'll be in the .230-240 range at season's end. HE HAS 30 2021 AT BATS. THIRTY! Expecting a .240 career hitter to come in and suddenly start hitting .280+ isn't very wise. Grandal is frustrating player to watch in the batter's box. I get it. He strikes out a lot and isn't going to get a ton of a base hits. HOWEVER - The guy has an elite eye and OBP tool. He has power. His hit tool is below average. He is an above average defensive catcher. Add it all up, that is one of the best 3 catchers in the game. Don't like? I don't know what else to tell ya. I came into the Grandal era knowing what kind of player he was - therefore, I defend him from the clowns that constantly say he's suddenly terrible. He's the exact same catcher he has always been - and guess what - its a damn good one. Agree to disagree like we've done 100s of times on the topic, but the numbers are clear as day. Sorry you don't like numbers.
  13. I mean, I don’t think they’re gonna leave him out there to dry just in the sake of stretching him out. He pitched 2.1 innings his 21 debut and then 1 IP each in the next 2 outings. Guy is in the pen - he’s not gonna be just a multi inning reliever all season. I want Crochet stretched out for 22 as much as the next guy, but we got a long season ahead of us and Crochet is going to be used in many ways throughout the year. Didn’t really see anything wrong with how TLR used him today based on how it was going.
  14. Hey man, I agree with your OP. Sox will be fine. It’s ugly right now but just gonna stay afloat. Not like anyone in the central is running away with it. A 4-2 round trip would sure be nice, but settle for 3-3. Sox are a good baseball team, and the bats will come around. TA is back. TLR lineup was solid today. Im not worried, though rattling off some wins would sure be nice.
  15. What about today makes that an awful situation for Crochet? Honestly curious why you feel that way.
  16. In a Sox uni, Grandal has been the guy he always has been. And that’s still very valuable. He’s never gonna hit .280+. He’ll be right around .240-.250 by seasons end like he always is. Abreu otoh, needs to snap out of it. JA has come up in tons of huge spots and flailed away so far in SSS.
  17. Robert isn't THAT young. He turns 24 in August. But your point remains.
  18. FINALLY. Outside of Yoan in the cleanup spot, this is exactly how i would draw them up. Feels good to have an MLB lineup again.
  19. Maybe, but pretty sure he would have to accept his assignment based on the fact he is a veteran. I double checked and the 40 man is currently at 39 with this move. I don't know how long Hamilton is expected to be out, and Engel should be back next week, so I would think that'll be it for Williams in a Sox uni, but never say never I guess.
  20. Doesn't this mean we have an open 40 man spot? Didn't need to clear one to bring TA back.
  21. Yeah, I didn't and still do NOT like the hire either. Certainly don't like the way the first 11 games have been managed. But baseball is a marathon, not a sprint and the man will have the 2nd most wins of any manager in MLB history by seasons end. Me thinks he knows a thing or two about managing baseball games. That said, he deserves the criticism he's received so far, but frankly, things probably look a whole lot different if he wasn't try to mix and match for Eloy and TA. Any team loses 2 of their best players, things aren't going to go exactly how we drew it up all offseason.
