Sooo we think Robert, Lamb or a surprise is the move today?

I’m kinda leaning towards Lamb. He went on a rehab assignment before Robert right? He should be due to come back.

I don’t mean to be insulting towards the man, but what is the point of Jake Lamb on this team at this point?

He’s gotta be wondering every day too.

There really isn’t any. He doesn’t play his natural position, hits left-handed (like Goodwin and Sheets), and can’t really play the OF. I’m just guessing they won’t cut him yet and going off of what a poster said yesterday (I’ll find it later) about Robert not playing OF back to back days yet. I kinda doubt he comes back today (if at all this week).

August is the worst month, just killing time waiting for the opportunity to clinch in September and the playoffs. Yawn. Play around .500 and get folks healthy.

How about a Go Fund Me to buy Jose some armor? Bubble wrap Eloy?

Robert back maybe by the Cubs series?

I don't see Robert back quite yet, but Lamb doesn't make much sense right now.  Could there be someone coming up that's unexpected?  Who could that even be?

Most likely it's Lamb, though, unfortunately.

LaRussa said the other day he didn't expect Lamb back for KC. I think he is ultimately going to get DFA'd.

Lamb and Sheets are redundant.  We shall see.

My guess is Mendick until Robert is back

I don’t believe Mendick is eligible. It hasn’t been 10 days and he’s not replacing an injured player (Lambert).

Oh you just inspired a great idea. You know how Jose won't wear the elbow guard like a lot of hitters because it feels uncomfortable to him. Then there are those air splints used for injuries and there is bubble wrap to protect stuff sent in packages.  There should be some product kind of halfway between  an air splint and bubble wrap that  would work like one of those nyoprene knee braces. So for an elbow guard you have smaller pockets of air  rather than bigger pockets so its more flexible and slide it up to your elbow like a brace. Basically a brace with air pockets like bubble wrap only stronger than bubble wrap on the part facing the pitcher Probably not as much protection as a solid hard plastic shield you strap onto the arm but for those looking for something more comfortable with better protection than just a nyoprene brace it could work.  You could have wrists bands too. Do any new types of shoulder pads use any type of air cushioning ?

These have been around for years. They can increase or decrease the air in them as well for player comfort. Not real popular though.

Cubs are a AAA team so Robert might as well be back for that series and play 1 or 2 games.

Eloy DH

Glad to see Eloy back in there.  Let's strive mightily to not get hurt.

Until we get Luis back, and because we know we're going to get the inane LvR lineup, this is as good as we could ask for.

This is the first time this year Yoan has batted lower than 5th (he did this eleven starts combined the previous two seasons).

We'll see if Eloy can make it through a full game tonight.

Love the lineup 1-7. Soon the 8-9 will be replaced by Robert and Grandal. Tim and Jose really need to get it going but this lineup is STACKED, especially with the emergence of Engel as a legit starting RF.

Let's get hot!

Whew! I was worried I might have to watch 1 game this year without Leury Garcia.

I would like to see Moncada and his .363 OBP in the second spot instead of Hernandez's .308 against lefties but pretty much my only complaint.

I say we got them Kansas City Royals right where we want 'em.
