Lot of pitches out of Dylan here in the first, many of them very fast

He's so comfortable hitting with 2 strikes. Hardly ever expands his zone. He's very impressive to watch hit.

What bothered me about that PA is that we either tried to get him to swing at an out of the zone fastball or Dylan missed 3 straight times with a fastball he was trying to paint.

Are the Sox going to stop letting everyone know they wanted to draft Benintendi now that it's clear he isn't good?

Has an incredible fastball so far

Dylan with a real lively fastball tonight. It's been good when it's been in the zone.

He’s overthrowing everything. Making his velocity good but he’s hung some breaking pitches and missing glove side

be nice to kick start a nice lead right away here.

I don't think he's doing anything nefarious, but I wonder how Cease got the spin on his fastball back to where it was before the sticky stuff crackdown

You have to wonder if the extra day of rest did him some good. I've seen him go as low as 94 on some fastballs in his recent starts. He's pumping 98-99 consistently tonight.

Leury with that .280 slugging at home

You can see where Dylan might be a weapon in the pen in October.

I'm guessing he's got some good hair gel now lol

I notice him going to his hair a lot between pitches. Probably trying to get a sweat and rosin mixture going.

Hernandez has a lot more power from the right side.

TA ground ball machine

I'm concerned teams may have figured something out with Tim's inability to pull the ball in the air. Why give him anything away when all he'll do on an inside pitch is hit it on the ground?

Hernandez's OBP is gonna steadily rise. him in the 2 spot is working so far.

He's gotta figure something out. If they're just pitching him inside he's gotta maybe start thinking about inside-outing the ball more.

Would be nice if Jose could start hitting again

Miss the 90mph FB in the zone, roll over and ground out instead.

Jose let a curveball right down the middle go but then reached for a change up way outside.

The day off doesn't appear to have solved whatever's been afflicting Tim and Jose's bats

Man I was really hoping that MVP would propel Abreu to another sterling season.

1.1 less fWAR in 161 more PA's. Tough year for the big guy.
