  1. Yeah, gonna disagree here. The Sox don't owe Yermin shit. Some people dislike it, but these dudes are assets owned by an organization. Yermin 24 hours ago likely had some value, especially with 6 years of control. I wouldn't give that away if I were the Sox either. Now? He has none. So maybe he gets his way eventually and the Sox release him. But I can promise you he eliminated most if not all of his potential employers in the process.
  2. Ahhh if the 40 man is at 39, that theory is out the window.
  3. I would take Lucroy 100/100 times over Zavala. He also has familiarity with the staff. For sure. Not saying Sox are going to bring in Lucroy, but why DFA a guy and risk losing him if you can just sign Lucroy to an milb deal a couple days later. With the trade deadline so close, there will be some 40 man movement and spots will open.
  4. Yeah, would require a DFA tho. Could theoretically sign him now as an milb deal and a trade or two over the next few days creates a roster spot without the DFA. But yes.
  5. Yeah I mentioned that the other day. I definitely think Billy is an IL candidate if the roster crunch becomes too much for him to survive. Every swing he takes hurts...he's clearly not 100%.
  6. Lol he's not tradable now. No one is taking that baggage. Yermin just punted any trade value he had by acting like a child and quitting when he didn't get his way.
  7. Someone might want to explain to Yermin that his rights are owned by the White Sox and they don't owe him shit. Someone should also tell him that a .150/.220/.196 triple slash over 120 PA isn't going to get him slack with any organization, and the Sox gave him a rope longer than most. Those tweets are seriously cringe worthy.
  8. This quote? "First of all I want to thank God for giving me life to the fans that without them I was nothing to my family for understanding me and always support Daniel szew for getting me ahead, and by the way ask forgiveness to all those who eh offended fruit of immaturity to the members of the radio, television and press..to all the teams I participated by not tolerating the decisions of them to everyone who has a human being eh failed i apologize and thus I walked from baseball for awhile god bless you its over? You're saying that is an except from a song except change the "baseball" to "music"? It very well could be...just seems like a lot!
  9. I also wonder if the Sox bringing in another catcher (Grullon) and playing him over Yermin is what broke the camel's back. He was told to go down and continue working on catching and get his swing back. In the meantime, Grandal gets hurt and Zavala gets the call instead (for obvious reason), and the Sox bring in another catcher with MLB experience in Grullon. Yermin's demons in his head start telling him he'll never make it back...and he snaps. Seems about as realistic of a scenario I can think of.
  10. Wait...which quote? Just he "El Retrio" part? Cuz the diatribe was pretty Yermin/Baseball specific, so tough to see that as song lyrics.
  11. Man, gonna be tough to just throw Goodwin to the wolves after how good he's been. Its the right thing to do, but a tad cutthroat. I guess that is what happens when you win. I still don't think Cruz is an option for the Sox, but even without him, there is a real roster crunch coming. Eloy -----> Burger to AAA Robert ------> Goodwin DFA Bullpen trade ------> ReyLo AAA Escobar or other 2B trade ------> this is where things get interesting. I guess Mendick to AAA Yasmani ------> Zavala AAA I think Sheets hangs around cuz we need lefty sticks, and I don't see the Sox cutting Hamilton. I'd be surprised if the Jake Lamb makes it back to the Sox, but perhaps they chose Lamb over Sheets when Jake's 20 day rehab stint is up. Will be interesting roster machinations regardless.
  12. Yeah, I mean Yermin was an asset. Maybe not a big one, but he had 6 years of team control and its obvious he can hit a little. Its an unfortunate development for the Sox.
  13. Seems crazy to me that Yordan Alvarez is 11, and Eloy doesn't make the list. Also crazy that Kopech doesn't make the top 75 or so trade values. Hard disagree on that one.
  14. Ehhh. Realistically, I doubt the guys in the dugout give a fuck. If Yermin wants to quit, I don’t think they’re gonna be too up in arms about it.
  15. Maybe someone can get to him once he sobers up. Quitting isn’t the answer. Hope he’s got a good support system and the Sox show some compassion. But something like this is tough to come back from. It’s a shame.
  16. Honestly not sure. He’ll be traded. But the Sox make no sense.
  17. Time for Burger to get some regular Pt down in AAA.
  18. We need a playable catcher until Yaz comes back.
  19. Can we still trade him for Yimi Garcia? Maybe they haven’t looked at Twitter yet.
  20. Yermin definitely was coming back to the big leagues if he stayed in shape and kept his head on shoulders. Doesn’t appear he was able to do the latter.
  21. Woof Yermin. Hope he can be talked off the ledge.
