  1. Yeah, I mean Yermin was an asset. Maybe not a big one, but he had 6 years of team control and its obvious he can hit a little. Its an unfortunate development for the Sox.
  2. Seems crazy to me that Yordan Alvarez is 11, and Eloy doesn't make the list. Also crazy that Kopech doesn't make the top 75 or so trade values. Hard disagree on that one.
  3. Ehhh. Realistically, I doubt the guys in the dugout give a fuck. If Yermin wants to quit, I don’t think they’re gonna be too up in arms about it.
  4. Maybe someone can get to him once he sobers up. Quitting isn’t the answer. Hope he’s got a good support system and the Sox show some compassion. But something like this is tough to come back from. It’s a shame.
  5. Honestly not sure. He’ll be traded. But the Sox make no sense.
  6. Time for Burger to get some regular Pt down in AAA.
  7. Man wouldn’t that be nice
  8. We need a playable catcher until Yaz comes back.
  9. Can we still trade him for Yimi Garcia? Maybe they haven’t looked at Twitter yet.
  10. Yermin definitely was coming back to the big leagues if he stayed in shape and kept his head on shoulders. Doesn’t appear he was able to do the latter.
  11. Woof Yermin. Hope he can be talked off the ledge.
  12. If we can turn Yermin and a 40 man spot (Reylo) into Yimi Garcia, color me interested.
  13. Probably not. He's also in the milb IL and hasn't played since July 3rd.
  14. Rooting for Micker. I've said it before and I will say it again, I think he's going to have some success in the big leagues at some point.
  15. I'd take LuCroy (or really anyone) over Zavala, even if its just for a couple weeks. Finding catchers who can't hit a lick but are solid defenders isn't exactly tough. Zavala is an automatic out. He's been solid behind the plate, and Sox have the luxury I guess, but why not upgrade if it doesn't anything but pro-rated league min. He obviously has some familiarly with the pitchers as well.
  16. Sox aren't exactly in a position to be trading away catchers at this moment.
  17. Hopefully Yaz is back in a couple weeks. 4-5 week timeline originally, and TLR said yesterday he's ahead of schedule.
  18. Whit will be too expensive. Someone will offer more than the Sox. His contract is an absolute steal. Then you have the inter-division thing. Don't see it happening.
  19. Does it really offer more DH flexibility though? All it does is shift Vaughn to DH most of the time, makes the defense worse, and makes Eloy more likely to get hurt again. I too think Eloy is going to need to play some LF, but Vaughn is the clearly superior defender. At the beginning of the season, we had a short fairly unathletic dude who hadn't played the OF since he was in little league. Vaughn has now proven to be an average LF defender in the bigs, and is still very much learning the position. One of the better developments so far in 2021 is Vaughn becoming a more than serviceable LF. Its absolutely huge for the DH/1B log jam we have in 22. Completely veering off that path at this point would be a serious mistake by the Sox.
  20. I think Matt Joyce is a nice comp. Brandon Moss is another that comes to mind.
  21. Hopefully the Sox. That's a lot of pay for a 34 YO reliever on a market rate (at best) deal. Guy makes more than Liam on an AAV basis.
  22. Do you have a link to the interview?
