  1. Rodon throws tomorrow for AZL, right?
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 11:18 AM) Sale for Machado & Bundy Dear god no.
  3. Binford would be a great get too
  4. Who was the last prospect the Sox had ranked in the top 10?
  5. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 07:01 AM) Sickels just came out with his midseason Top 75 not including any 2014 draft picks. No Sox players on the list. http://www.minorleagueball.com/2014/7/14/5...te-2014-sickels Sox should have atleast 1 or 2 on this list
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 11:00 AM) But you're missing a huge portion of the equation there...how badly team needs to move payroll, what team has coming up behind it, what state team is for duration of player's contract. The White Sox clearly needed to move Jake Peavy's $15 million, they had no use for him this year, they thought they had a guy who could replace him until EJ completely blew up, and there was at the time virtually no chance of fielding a competitive team before his contract ends. None of those are true with Ramirez. The Sox can afford his contract, he's still useful to them, there's no clear-cut "ready to replace him right now" candidate, and it's entirely possible that they'll be fielding a competitive team before his contract ends. Thus the White Sox should also be in a position to hold out for a higher price or decide not to move him at all. If they don't move him I will not be mad. If they didn't move Peavy I'd have been very mad. Great post.
  7. Zero reason to move him unless you get a cornerstone prospect to move forward with. I wouldnt trade him for anything less than a top 50-60 guy, anything less would be giving him away.
  8. Will be pretty cool to have the collection of Rodon, Hawkins, Anderson, Montas, and May together in W-S. I feel like all that type of potential around each other has to spark something good.
  9. Hahn really needs to dNgle Danks in front of the AL East teams and hope a bidding war starts, s*** throw in beckham or something to get a nicer prospect
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 10:28 AM) Ervin Santana is a good pitcher. He's not as good as James Shields, but it's not by as much as you think. He was coming off a very good season of pitching, was 31 years old, and was offered a qualifying offer. He didn't get signed until March. James Shields is a great pitcher. He's better than Ervin Santana, but not by as much as you think. He could ultimately be coming off a great season or mediocre season, but as it stands right now, his season has been nothing else but slightly disappointing. He will be 33 years old and will be offered a qualifying offer. If he gets $80 million, the team signing him is making a monumental mistake. He's not getting $125 million, let alone $140 million. If he gets $140 million, I will eat a bar of soap. Im expecting much more along the lines of $80 million as well
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 08:44 AM) Let's just say I'll be buying someone a nice scotch tonight May I recommend Balvenie Single Barrel 15?
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 09:55 AM) They're not going to pay Shields $125-140 million. Pipe dream. He would be #2 starter, by the way, and #1 for at least half the teams in the majors. You can probably forget Gallardo because there's a club option which will undoubtedly be exercised by the Brewers. Martin, at his age, he's due for a regression, and a 3 year contract would be a big mistake. If they need to target a veteran catcher and there's no other choice, he should be closer to 28-30 than 33-35. Miller and Street are among the best in the majors for lefty-set up and closer, so it will be interesting to see if these kinds of "patch" moves are made going into 2015 or Hahn waits until 2016 when Rodon's ready to go from Opening Day in the starting rotation. You really think Shields gets that type of money?
  13. As things start to take shape over the next couple weeks, I am interested in how you guys want Rick to attack free agency. I dont think I'm out of line saying that the main positions of need are catcher, RHSP, and bullpen. Personally, I would love to see Rick go after Shields or Gallardo to shore up that complimentary RHP spot and then I would absolutely love to see Russell Martin signed on a 2 or 3 year deal. From there, I would love to focus on the bullpen and there is a plethora of nice bullpen arms available: Andrew Miller for lefty specialist, Huston Street for closer, and maybe a guy like Gregerson. Obviously all a pipe dream at this point, but I think those type of moves can make this team a contender next year. C - Martin 1B - Abreu 2B - M. Johnson SS - Alexei 3B - Conor/Davidson LF - Viciedo CF - Eaton RF - Garcia DH - Davidson/Conor SP - Sale SP - Quintana SP - Shields or Gallardo SP - Rodon SP - Danks? Noesi? CL - Street RP - Petricka RP - Gregerson RP - Jones RP - Webb RP - Miller That is sexy. Looking forward to see how they attack this deadline.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 01:55 AM) http://bustedcoverage.com/2014/06/05/carlo...d-keely-warren/ CHEERLEADER STALKERS!!! C'mon, she's like the girl next door although bordering on anorexic in some of her pictures. The irony is that Keely is a cheerleader for East Carolina, which is home of the coveted Jeff Hoffman, who we were arguably set to draft before the TJ surgery. Is she going to join Team Hoffman now? PS...One of those pictures, the NC State jerseys look not too far off from the 1983 Sox jerseys. Weird. Not all that hot
  15. Prediction: Rodon Anderson M. Johnson Hawkins Montas Davidson Danish Ravelo Michelzewski Adams Not bad
  16. How many walks does Sale have in his last 10 starts? That ratio is starting to get real ridiculous
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 04:30 PM) Beckham isn't a better option then Wong for St. Louis. They are almost identical across the board statisticallly actually, they both suck quite a bit
  18. Have a good feeling Sale is going to slaughter tonight
  19. 2-3 teams looking at Danks with Yankees showing the most interest. Gotta be looking at their catching, right?
  20. Toronto has been scouting Beckham for the last week per Levine
  21. Wow I'm a dumbass, I literally sat and watched the entire game too. Guess that's what happens when you're drinking and multitasking. Definitely watched that home run and double though. ::facepalm::
  22. Any word on if Conor will be back before the all-star break?
