QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:30 PM) You don't think they are a 90-loss team with Cano? No
-
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:20 PM) What not buy one anyway if that's the case. B/c 81 games of a 90+ loss team is not good for my health

QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 08:53 PM) For those of you who are bored by the lack of White Sox roster news, someone is having fun on Wikipedia editing Sox players' pages with some pretty funny stuff. From Keppinger's page: And Veal: lol

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) Cano wouldn't sell a single ticket. He's a luxury the Sox can't afford. I would buy a season ticket tomorrow.

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 08:13 PM) Let's be real, Salty sucks. He has one season in his career above 1.9 WAR, strikes out more than Adam Dunn, and was cut loose in favor of AJP after being benched in favor of David Ross in the World Series This.

I know I will probably get chastised for this, but why not offer Cano something along the lines of $180 MM/7 years? I think he will legitimately be good until atleast 35 or 36 and a signing like that would not only fill seats, but be a big time jolt in the arm of this offense. So why not? It's a lot of money ya, but even with a contract like that they would still be under what they've been around the last couple of years.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 04:31 PM) The dumbest thing Rick Hahn could do would be to make a deal simply because other teams are making deals. Im not saying to make a deal just for no reason, but I would like to think this team wants to atleast be a little competitive next season. There are moves to be made, make them. If not, sell off parts and start this rebuild already.

Gotta wonder how long Hahn is going to stand pat with all this activity going on around the Sox in the ALC?
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 04:17 PM) Colorado Rockies @Rockies 2m #Rockies have acquired RHP Jordan Lyles & OF Brandon Barnes from @astros in exchange for Dexter Fowler and a PTBNL. Wow that is a terrible trade for the Rockies
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 03:44 PM) And what's with them trading for relievers? A lock down bullpen will win you a lot of games

Collective sigh

QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 01:34 PM) Refresh my memory..was @k0na actually someone in the know? Or basically some guy who got one story first out of nowhere He/she has broke a lot of Sox news on the MLB.com forum for the last 5 or so years now, so I'd consider them a real source. Why?
-
Oh I get it, Hahn meant the trade market was heating up in general. Ya it is, fun to watch.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 12:52 PM) Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 1m Final trade between Oakland and Texas: A's get Craig Gentry and Josh Lindblom, Rangers get Michael Choice and Chris Bostick. Dont get what the A's are thinking there, Choice seems like a big haul alone for Gentry. I was really hoping the Sox could swing something for him when they traded Peavy.

QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) Hanigan traded to the Rays. Possible 3-team deal. Maybe since the Rays would then have Molina, Hanigan, and Lobaton, maybe we kicked in very little in the deal to grab Lobaton? I would love it if the Rays were somehow flipping Hanigan to the Sox

Trade talks are so hot right now, trade talks
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 10:46 AM) Nathan to Detroit. Sort of explains the Fister deal. The more free agents off the board before the Winter Meetings, the more exciting they will be. Depends on how many teams looking for things we have will be taken care of by that point
-
Thanks for eating those innings!

Anybody think Daniel Bard would be an interesting Coop project?
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 12:01 PM) Peter Gammons @pgammo 2h No progress on Headley extension; Padres to examine trade value Anyone know what they are looking for right now? I would love Headley on this team

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I apologize if this is in the wrong area, but does anyone wonder if this injury will cause Jerry to push for more offseason activity for the Sox now?
-
Just say no to Jon Jay.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 10:45 AM) The Sox would absolutely "get thinking" on anything including Profar and additional prospects. I really dont see Profar being as good as people think he is going to be, but that is just me. Gallo strikes me as Mark Reynolds 2.0. Alfaro and Odor are interesting prospects, but not enough to take Sale away. The only way a team is going to pry Sale away is with a future allstar position player and a pitcher that has #2 upside to me.

QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) Do the Rangers have any package of players that could get the Sox thinking on Chris Sale? Not in my opinion. Only teams I could see a trade with would be the Pirates, Cubs, and Cardinals.
