  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) What if Cespedes ends up getting 5/125 from some team? For me, I think he will be a massive flop with that type of contract. Which team is giving that to him? Dont you think he would've already signed somewhere if he had that type of offer on the table? He doesnt.
  2. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 10:02 AM) I'll go ahead & say it, I'd be very surprised to see the Sox get Cespedes or Upton. I think they'll turn their attention to the 2/3 tier guys. That would be a major failure on their part. Major, major failure.
  3. QUOTE (chunk23 @ Jan 6, 2016 -> 09:58 AM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal Sources: #WhiteSox would not go 4 years on Gordon, as @BNightengale said. Will they adjust on Cespedes? Gordon 32 this season, Cespedes 30. So maybe it wasn't posturing after all. If they f*** this up by going on the cheap, good luck drawing this season. No f***ing chance.
  4. Sox better go hard after Cespedes if Gordon does in fact go back to KC today. Like, sign him by the end of the week hard.
  5. Would be odd to announce the signing during HOF day tomorrow, hope it isn't true
  6. I'm really, really hoping the Sox sign Gordon over Cespedes
  7. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 10:42 AM) Cryptic tweet from an insider, apparently a typo Jim Bowden ‏@JimBowden_ESPN 1m1 minute ago Pay Gordon & Angels sign Kendrick and Upton What?
  8. While I agree the elite talent drops off after 3, the system looks pretty well stocked with arms at this point and if they can add some solid upside with these 3 picks in the top 50 next season, the system will be looking pretty good.
  9. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 09:57 AM) http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/pricing-ale...hree-year-deal/ I'll put this on the correct thread lol I think a 3 yr deal at a higher AAV with a 4th year option is ideal for the Sox
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 09:11 AM) #10 has as much experience above Rookie ball as Adolfo. Zangari is younger than Adolfo at the same level with an OPS 200 pts higher than Adolfo's.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 08:53 AM) Baseball America has it as: 1. Tim Anderson SS 2. Carson Fulmer RHP 3. Spencer Adams RHP 4. Trey Michalczewski 3B 5. Jacob May CF 6. Tyler Danish RHP 7. Adam Engel OF 8. Jordan Guerrero LHP 9. Courtney Hawkins OF 10. Corey Zangari 1B For everyone that bashes our system, I think that's a pretty nice top 10.
  12. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Jan 4, 2016 -> 01:52 AM) I suspect Texas or Houston. Hopefully the sox can get a comp pick from him ( assuming he plays well enough to earn a QO)
  13. Not entirely sure how this benefits the Sox in any way
  14. Anyone else see that Heyman mention as a plant? I think they made the offer to Cespedes and want him to accept quickly. I think it's pretty apparent Gordon wants to go back to KC at this point.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 01:48 AM) If you're 100% satisfied with Jennings' performance...I guess. 3.47 FIP, 3.62 xFIP....you could do worse
  16. Some light reading: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/putting-a-v...oenis-cespedes/
  17. It's terrifying to me that Cespedes might end up on the Sox. Dude has regret written all over him.
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) More mocks because, I'm bored I guess. This one has Rutherford to the Sox: http://www.fueledbysports.com/2016-mlb-mock-draft/ This one stayed the same with the Sox picking Okey: http://www.mymlbdraft.com/MLB-Mock-Draft Seth Beer graduated early to start school at college, he isnt even eligible for the draft, so that 2nd website shouldnt really be bothered with.
  19. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 01:00 PM) Why be patient when you can fly off the handle for no reason? I DONT EVEN FEEL LIKE THE SOX CARE ABOUT POSITIONING THEMSELVES TO SIGN BRYCE HARPER IN 2018 RIGHT NOW. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! JUST TANK ALREADY, CENTURY OVER.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 10:47 AM) If it's between signing Parra to a 3 year deal in the 39 million range or upgrading other positions and giving Avi one more chance, I would rather see option 2. I never want to see Avi in RF again
  21. Man, if people were dooming the Sox right now, they will go nuclear if Parra ends up being the FA the Sox get.
