That’s kind of where I’m at. I’m not anti-shift, and think outright banning them is stupid. But keeping infielders on or very close to the actual infield seems like a healthy compromise.

Sheets isn’t exactly stellar defensively at 1st either. Probably safe to assume Burger wouldn’t be as well. Better than putting 1B in of the OF, but I would hope they aim higher.

I don’t follow them closely but it does seem that way. Most of their now regulars are young guys I believe.

Elvis has been a solid pickup and a needed boost, but I wouldn’t expect a 35 year old to repeat this next season. I love me some Mendick but I’ll be surprised if he survives the winter on the 40 man. Then there is Leury’s stupid contract. I just hope they don’t think retaining Harrison is the answer. Romy or one of the many kids in AA/AAA deserve a shot before another stupid year of “Big Energy”.
