  1. Hahn's explanation about Coop makes it sound like they are ready for a new voice in the pitching department.
  2. Yes, Thank You Coop for your contributions for many many years. But it is time.
  3. And for those that refuse to accept it, this does NOT describe Ozzie Guillen.
  4. "Recent October experience with a championship club" is the ideal... Hmmm.
  5. So I'm not dreaming? The Sox made the right move at the right time and aren't messing around?!
  6. Hold up, I need to pinch myself. Did this really just happen?
  7. NBCS calling it the 'end of season' press conference makes me think we won't hear any big news.
  8. I'll admit that I did not look at his splits, it was more of a spitball idea. I honestly have no idea how they solve the RF problem next season or longterm.
  9. I dont foresee coaching changes this winter, so my hopes that those arms do develop is very low. Cease & Lopez both need some tutelage outside of Don Cooper IMO, IE Giolito. I don't believe that they see Collins as a viable catching option. Nor do they see Mendick as anything but a 2B. I'm basing these assessments on how they were or weren't used this season. I firmly believe they bring in a cheap vet C to replace McCann. It won't be Collins.
  10. If he weren't such an asshat in the clubhouse I might be interested as a stopgap. But that is one gigantic ass IF. No way he returns after the LaRoche fiasco.
  11. EE, Rodon, Yolmer, Mazara, & McCann gone. FO makes a good offer to McCann but he finds a starting job elsewhere. Colome returns on 2/$25ish. (Reliable, team is on the verge, he knows the org.) Stroman & Quintana added to the rotation. (Gio, DK, Stroman, Dunning, Q) Quality defensive back up catcher is signed. Cease, Stiever, Lopez, Collins, Mendick & Rutherford are all shopped hard for a LH RH, but are ultimately traded for cost controlled pitching depth. Leury's option is picked up, he and Engel platoon in RF. I'm 50/50 on Mazara returning if no upgrade is found. Yolmer is non-tendered but could return before spring training.
  12. Ozzie Guillen hasn't managed in the bigs in 8 years. If he were a commodity at all he wouldn't be doing post-game shows. Ozzie Guillen was a terrible manager from about 2009 on. Whatever magical touch he had with this team was long gone before he left. Ozzie Guillen QUIT on the Chicago White Sox. He negotiated a deal with Miami while still employed. That bridge is burned. Rick Renteria being terrible is no justification to bring back a bad manager who hasn't worked in nearly a decade. Thanks for 2005 and a fun run, but replacing one catastrophe with another is not the change this young squad needs. Ozzie Guillen will never manage the White Sox ever again. Fin.
  13. Laughable. RR isnt exactly working from an accurate assessment of the pitcher Rodon currently is in that quote.
  14. Excellent post. I echo these assessments. Used Bummer too soon and things snowballed after that. Foster was put in an impossible situation and unfortunately couldn't get it done.
  15. Should they? Unequivocally Yes. Will they? Who bloody knows. I want to believe that they will do what needs to be done but I don't have faith that they will.
  16. Not really an equivalent on the market. Not many great FA starters this winter. Bauer would look great in a Sox uni but I don't see it happening.
  17. Bassitt, Semien, and Montas probably don't develop here. Even if they did they are probably traded as part of the tear down. Lamenting their loss feels silly. They aren't why the Sox today.
  18. Giolito, Keuchel, Stroman, Dunning, Cease. Quintana spot starter innings eating vet. Kopech whenever he pushes someone out of the rotation. Dunning & Cease hopefully (wishful thinking) spend the offseason training with Giolito/his crew. The talent is there but they still need work.
