  1. Does Archer have anything left?
  2. "b****ing" about those who are "b****ing", while also *not* meeting these qualifications is cute. Look at the reaction of not just fans, but of media members and the absolute silence of the players. The White Sox did make a colossal mistake with this hire and the response shows. Can La Russa still do the job adequately? Probably. Should he have been invited back into the clubhouse to do the job now, today, with this team? With his own glaring red flags? Unequivocally No.
  3. Go all in, sign the best of who is out there, win a ring, LaRussa retires and we never have to think about this debacle again. That might salvage this moment.?
  4. "Even in what is supposed to be a tight-fisted market, most clubs want to add starting pitching and a few such as the Blue Jays, Giants and White Sox are expected to be a little bolder financially than others." Let us all hope this is true. With all of the names hitting free agency the Sox could fill out their roster nicely with some quality, even if on short term deals.
  5. I would be mildly upset that they didn't interview others, but I wouldn't feel gut punched, livid, and or alienated as a fan. Bochy wouldn't be my first choice but there aren't any massive waving red flags that make me question the functional health of the front office.
  6. And we will never know because they didn't even try. There is zero chance a healthy functional front office lands on Tony LaRussa as the best candidate for this team in the year 2020.
  7. Things discussed here sure have a funny way of finding its way into his tweets, often using the same verbiage.
  8. Input from one of your most important players is important. As is not alienating the face of your franchise.
  9. Which is still an indictment of the process. This roster deserves the best available manager. The Sox did not hire the best available manager. They didn’t even try.
  10. I would have done a legitimate managerial search and chosen the best candidate - not begged a troglodyte to come out of retirement for the comfortable nepotism hire.
  11. Someone didn't proof well enough in preflight or something. Thats the only logical explanation I can come up with and that stills seems too far fetched for me.
  12. Lifted straight off of the announcement email.
  13. I had to go back to my email trash can to check for myself. They indeed sent that pic out in the announcement email.
  14. Probably waiting for the Cubs job to open up so he doesn't have to uproot his whole family. I don't think he is long for the org after this.
  15. Oh he's certainly doing that. The second quote is pure spin IMO because he has to put on a unified front.
