  1. So much for Cease showing me something.
  2. Those black tops are damn sexy when they aren’t over worn?
  3. Abreu long fly out to end the inning. Ok Cease, show us something...
  4. There is no perfect lineup this season, but it doesn’t make bad ABs any less frustrating.
  5. TA grounder up the middle leads it off!
  6. Moncada isn't right physically. But he is the best they have at 3B and in the 2 hole. But in reality his malady isn't going away and it doesn't seem like he will be himself at all in 2020. So he should probably cash out and go on the IL for the season? But the Sox don't have anyone to step in to pick up for where he normally would be. So what to do? Did I miss anything? Props for trying to play through it because I don't know the answer.
  7. Couldn't remember if he was good or if it was just Cubs hype. Turns out he was actually good. And then he wasn't. And then yikes.
  8. Refusing to attack the zone and constantly nibbling around the edges w/o stellar control is no recipe for success either.
  9. If it’s broke, don’t change a thing, again. Trying to be more zen and all but...
  10. 35, debuted in 2009. Had some solid years with the Cubs but hasn't been good in a few. Fresh arm is a fresh arm but I'm not expecting much.
  11. Is he any good? Was he ever any good? I know the name but he's a complete blank.
  12. Had any Cubs prospect emerged as a potential ace when Lester signed? When Keuchel signed Giolito just finished an All Star season and young Michael Kopech was expected to join the rotation at some point in 2020. Not exactly the same situation.
  13. Yesterday was ugly. No other way to put it. Some of the underlying struggles all kind of showed out together in one bad game. Perspective is needed. This isn’t the finished product yet and as much as we, (looking at myself in the proverbial mirror), want them to kick every team’s ass in dominating efficient fashion, they aren’t there yet. This is still year one.
  14. Oh man, I remember thinking that was a possibility ??
  15. Probably didn’t help any, but the quick hook last night tells me the decision was basically already made. Only a good outing would have prevented the move.
  16. The Sox are competing for first place with a shitty manager, a few glaring holes, and a rash of injuries to key pieces. Big picture perpstective, there are a lot of positives and a lot to like. Plenty of work and growth still to go, but a real foundation to something potentially special. That gets lost some times in the heat of the moment. This is the first taste of success this fan base has had in a long time. I can appreciate a call to take a breath and savor. We are hopefully in for a fun ride into October even if it's a bit bumpy along the way.
  17. 3 holes in the rotation has destroyed the pen. It’s obvious.
