  1. It is a lost cause and yes the odds are they will never win anything again as long as JR is still in control.
  2. No he doesn't but his family will in time.
  3. Possible of course but also possible is that if the Sox were to move MLB would say Chicago belongs to the Cubs because the Cubs would scream murder about territorial rights stopping any expansion.
  4. The front office does what the owner tells them to do and the owner continues to make money so he's very happy with the status quo.
  5. They may, but as has been pointed out many times, from a financial stand point it makes little sense for MLB when they can get more money from granting expansion franchises. Besides we know the situation as long as JR has control, he isn't changing. I'm willing to take the chance that new ownership "may" move the team because I sure know what the situation is as long as current ownership remains in place. And the answer to that is the team is incompetent, dysfunctional and inept from top to bottom on and off the field.
  6. It IS hopeless...right now. New ownership changes the situation...it can't be any worse.
  7. Only the Bears would celebrate a meaningless win like it was the Super Bowl and screw up their draft position. Typical. LOL. 🤡
  8. https://awfulannouncing.com/local-networks/milwaukee-brewers-return-fanduel-sports-network-2025.html
  9. I'm guessing they are hoping he has a good first half and can get something for him otherwise it doesn't make a lot of sense to trade a kid in his early 20's for a 31 year old journeyman.
  10. Most of the other shareholders (aka Board of Directors) are around JR's age and probably have no desire to get that involved, even if they could. Remember it is in JR's contract that he runs the team... period, end of discussion. The other board members can offer advice but literally have no say in any decisions. One example is some were telling JR to sell after 2005 when the going was good, JR refused. JR also twice refused Andrew Berlin's advances in 2008. JR does what he wants, when he wants without fear of blowback and that will remain the case until his passing.
  11. The Dodgers front office and ownership runs rings around the incompetent, dysfunctional and inept Sox ownership/front office from top to bottom in all departments on and off the field. They may not be the "best" in the four major professional U.S. sports but they are damn close to it and a front office that most Sox fans would kill to have (to say nothing of 12 straight playoff appearances) It is literally absurd to think otherwise.
  12. I'm sure the Sox "presentation' was probably laughed at. "We had a seat at the fax machine..." - Chris Getz
  13. While the comments against him by others in the Chicago media may have been unfair (personally I don't think so) there is no way you win in that situation by responding publicly, and making it worse was that it was on the broadcast itself as opposed to say on social media. It was unprofessional and childish and that comes from someone who has been in broadcasting since 1978.
  14. If I remember right Q had something like 55-60 no decisions in his starts for the Sox.
  15. Logically they should be playing but like last season if the Sox get off to another record setting losing pace, Getz may try to pick up some more older vets in an effort to not be on the embarrassing end of another year like in 2024. These are the dysfunctional White Sox remember.
  16. From Paul Sullivan's sports year wrap up column on Sunday: Top 5 Schriff-isms The most memorable calls of first-year Sox broadcaster John Schriffen: “For all the haters …” “South Side, stand up!” “Radio losers” “We ain’t takin’ that.” “I need this win.”
  17. By the way it should also be noted that nine teams have to pay luxury tax penalty money this year (aka a soft salary cap) including the Cubs. It's not just the Dodgers trying to win.
  18. Any franchise in theory is movable but where are you going to go? Again I refer back to the stories and the Sports Illustrated article that stated a Nashville expansion team could garner 2 billion dollars. That's a lot more than relocating the White Sox to Nashville, Montreal, New Orleans, Salt Lake City, Portland or Timbuktu is going to bring in. And as we all know the most important thing to those running the show in MLB is $$$$$$$$$$. I know your position is the Sox are moving, my position is they aren't going anywhere (as TLR recently said). Time will tell who is right.
  19. Well played. What we do know for sure is that as long as that family runs this operation, any success will be in spite of them as opposed to because of them. Love the fact that the media both locally and nationally is calling out this franchise and ownership for the idiots that they are.
  20. Every team in MLB has access to more domestic and international revenue streams then ever before. More than enough to put good teams on the field. The White Sox have more advantages for one example than every other team in the division. Yet because of their incompetence, dysfunction and ineptness they have squandered them. It's not MLB's fault they are run by a miserly owner who seemingly has done everything possible to alienate his fan base. Your response is hilarious to me. And I again point out how many different teams have been to or won the World Series over the past 25 years.
  21. Grew up in Chicago, was a Sox fan (while his brother Bryant was a Cub fan)... https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/2024/12/27/longtime-sportscaster-and-chicago-native-greg-gumbel-dies-at-78
  22. Exactly correct. Other teams/owners cry poor instead of trying to win. I have zero sympathy for them. If they can't or don't want to play the game the way it is being done today, then sell and get out.
