Bobby Dalbec added to roster, Meidroth to 10-day IL, Martín Pérez to 60-day IL
I'm guessing Varland will eventually become #8 for TJS. I saw a tweet from Merkin a few days ago where he was going to try the old "rest and rehab" prescription and hope that it works. I'm guessing it won't much like with Rodon, Dunning, Martin et al

☕ 4/21 Breakfast in Boston - 10:10 AM 🏃
Since Getz doesn't want to be embarrassed and since it is hard for the organization historically to admit mistakes, I'd guess at least until the All-Star break even if he is only hitting .130 or so.

Bobby Dalbec added to roster, Meidroth to 10-day IL, Martín Pérez to 60-day IL
From Merkin's story: "Pérez exited Friday’s start after three innings and 52 pitches with left elbow inflammation, using cautious tones to describe how he felt after the abrupt ending to his night. Despite Monday’s move, the White Sox are still uncertain as to the long-term prognosis for Pérez. “We know at least 60 days,” said manager Will Venable of Pérez, who is back in Chicago for further evaluation. “He feels, I think, better than he did after the first day, but still too early to really speculate on what this timeline is going to be. So we'll see here in the next couple of days what we’ve got.” "Losing Pérez is a tough break for the team both on and off the field. He’s also the eighth White Sox pitcher since just before Spring Training to suffer an arm issue, with Drew Thorpe, Ky Bush, Mason Adams, Prelander Berroa, Juan Carela, and Minor Leaguer Blake Larson undergoing Tommy John surgery and Gus Varland working his way to a return for Charlotte."

Not much you can do or say with this putrid offense.

Berroa, Carela getting TJ
That unfortunately didn't age well, looks like he's done for the year if they had to automatically move him to the 60 day IL.

Perez will eventually become the 8th White Sox pitcher to have TJS. Obviously things showed up very bad in the early tests they did. This organization can't go a single solitary week without someone getting hurt.

Moniak
Very well said. A rebuilding team should be looking towards the future with younger players not retreads, has-been's, injury prone guys and stiffs populating the team.

🐰 4/20 Sox @ Sawx - 12:35PM 🌿
This must be a mistake, they actually scored eight runs? Feel bad for Burke those errors and all those unearned runs really screwed things up for him. And this is the first time this year the Sox trailed in the 7th inning or later and won.

White Sox (4-14) @ Red Sox (10-10) 6:10 p.m. CST
The seven straight road losses to open a season is a franchise record. The disaster that the franchise has become continues to manifest itself in unusual ways more and more.

White Sox (4-14) @ Red Sox (10-10) 6:10 p.m. CST
Another game with three runs or less and another pitcher with the dreaded "forearm soreness" which will translate to a date with the doctor for TJS, the eighth Sox pitcher to have it this year. Maybe they can get a group discount?????????????

JR playing politics with Comcast...
That would be a solid move for all concerned.

Fire Chris Getz
Agreed which is why those thinking he should resign are dreaming, he'd never get another job in MLB so he's milking it for as much income as he can get.
-
Fire Chris Getz
Like many of JR's employees he loves the nice check and job security. Should he resign? Probably...will he? Nope...he's got a family to feed and much like Williams and Hahn he'll never sniff another job in MLB so he does what he's told.

This has been one of the worst organizations in baseball since the start of the 2007 season. The record doesn't lie: 12 losing years, five winning ones and a .500 season.

Like most very wealthy people it is never enough money but with JR I think it goes deeper than that, it is his ego, his arrogance. "I know what I'm doing, how DARE you question me..." (and by proxy the organization which has has that strain of arrogance for decades from people like Kenny Williams to Rick Hahn to Getz among others.) Plus his feelings about how much MLB players make hasn't changed either, he feels they aren't worth what teams are willing to pay for talent and he chooses not to actively participate in the deep end of that pool.

Sox Quote of the Day 4/17...
“We’ve got to find a way to score runs. The intent is there. These guys are practicing the right way, game planning the right way. We’re getting some guys on, we just have to cash in.”---Will Venable to the Sun-Times.

.136; .138; .149; .184; .182; .103 That's some "quality" Major League players right there kids, let me tell you! 😆

I know we all hoped for better things but the fact is that is not going to happen. This is an abysmal roster, full stop. 4-14 on the year 14 games where they scored three runs or less (78%) 54 runs TOTAL this season (averaging three runs per game) 3 times shut out 4 times scored one run 3 times scored two runs 4 times scored three runs All you can do is laugh

4/16 Game Thread - > Sox vs A's
The best average among the top four hitters in the lineup tonight was .143 All you can do is laugh. 13 times in 17 games the Sox have scored three runs or less.

Schriffen does it again...
I disagree, he'd be more tolerable but still an issue.
-
Schriffen does it again...
He's not the problem, he is PART of the problem. Just another example of a dysfunctional organization that can't get out of their own way.

Another day and yet another game where they score three runs or less.
