At least they are consistent...three runs or less...again.

Roster movies: Quero, Benintendi to Chicago, Narvaez DFA'd, Jones to AAA
Isn't that the truth. Not just Getz though, Hahn had a revolving door of players no other team cared for.

Sox Quote of the Day 4/23...
I don't watch as often as I used to, who does anymore given the situation... but the bottom line is that any "improvement" is basically inconsequential since the vast majority of said players (maybe all of them) won't be around in a year or two and they'll be starting with an entirely new deck. As far as the bolden part, well..."Other then the end, how did you like the play Mrs. Lincoln?" How "competent" can you be when you still can't do fundamental things like advance runners into scoring position or actually get guys home from third base with less than two out? The roster is basically comprised of stiffs, has been's, retreads and injury prone players. That's improvement?

If you think about it does it even really matter with those guys? Sosa MAYBE the only one worth playing time anyway.

Sox Quote of the Day 4/23...
“These guys have been working incredibly hard and they’ve put themselves in a good position to take good swings, it’s going to turn here. We’ve got to keep continuing to fight.”---Will Venable to MLB.com 😆

With what they are paying him I'm guessing he's VERY happy to live in Detroit.

They may actually set a record for most games scoring three runs or less. Right now 18 times out of 23 games, three runs or less (78%) One time in the last 10 games they have scored over three runs. That's really bad. 🤡

Resilient White Sox/AL Central Attendance, somehow up 1.8% YoY for first 21 home dates
With the lockout looming they may not even play 100 games. 😉

For a lot of people, especially older ones it isn't very easy to get up on a roof and install an antenna.

☕ 4/21 Breakfast in Boston - 10:10 AM 🏃
Very kind of you to say so. Part of it is because the "spirit" (for wont of a better word) has basically been beat out of me. We can discuss, argue about minute aspects of the franchise...trades, injuries, prospects et al but the absolute bottom line is this, and everyone here knows it... Until JR leaves either standing on his feet or on a slab this franchise is going nowhere, period...full stop...end of story. Until that happens if you think about it nothing else really matters does it? Given the situation (and the almost assured lockout right after the 2026 season) I may try to bring back more historical items like This Day In White Sox History or interviews, something that reminds the fans who are left of better days.

I'd be very happy to take Mr. Applegate (look it up) as the new Sox owner if that is what it takes to turn this incompetent, dysfunctional and inept franchise around.

November 27, 1938 - Sox star pitcher Monty Stratton, an American League All-Star in 1937 and one of the best young players in the game accidentally shot himself in the leg when his .22 caliber pistol discharged when he was replacing it in his holster. He had failed to engage the safety on the gun. He was out hunting rabbits near his Texas home. Unable to get help, he crawled a half mile to a road leading into Greenville, Texas. The bullet pierced a femoral artery which stopped circulation to the limb above the knee and it had to be amputated the next day to stop the spread of gangrene. His five-year career was ended. He eventually came back to play in a few minor league games using a wooden leg. In 1948 Hollywood made ‘The Stratton Story,’ starring Jimmy Stewart, June Allyson and former Sox manager Jimmy Dykes.

He's getting a thorough chance. Did it last year and is getting it this year. Which is why because he was the "centerpiece" Getz is going to give him time. But as I guessed he'll be DFA'd around the All-Star break if he is still hitting below .200. That's more than enough time in my opinion to convince everyone he isn't good and Getz got taken to the cleaners.

Bobby Dalbec added to roster, Meidroth to 10-day IL, Martín Pérez to 60-day IL
I'm guessing Varland will eventually become #8 for TJS. I saw a tweet from Merkin a few days ago where he was going to try the old "rest and rehab" prescription and hope that it works. I'm guessing it won't much like with Rodon, Dunning, Martin et al

Since Getz doesn't want to be embarrassed and since it is hard for the organization historically to admit mistakes, I'd guess at least until the All-Star break even if he is only hitting .130 or so.

Bobby Dalbec added to roster, Meidroth to 10-day IL, Martín Pérez to 60-day IL
From Merkin's story: "Pérez exited Friday’s start after three innings and 52 pitches with left elbow inflammation, using cautious tones to describe how he felt after the abrupt ending to his night. Despite Monday’s move, the White Sox are still uncertain as to the long-term prognosis for Pérez. “We know at least 60 days,” said manager Will Venable of Pérez, who is back in Chicago for further evaluation. “He feels, I think, better than he did after the first day, but still too early to really speculate on what this timeline is going to be. So we'll see here in the next couple of days what we’ve got.” "Losing Pérez is a tough break for the team both on and off the field. He’s also the eighth White Sox pitcher since just before Spring Training to suffer an arm issue, with Drew Thorpe, Ky Bush, Mason Adams, Prelander Berroa, Juan Carela, and Minor Leaguer Blake Larson undergoing Tommy John surgery and Gus Varland working his way to a return for Charlotte."

Not much you can do or say with this putrid offense.
-
Berroa, Carela getting TJ
That unfortunately didn't age well, looks like he's done for the year if they had to automatically move him to the 60 day IL.

Perez will eventually become the 8th White Sox pitcher to have TJS. Obviously things showed up very bad in the early tests they did. This organization can't go a single solitary week without someone getting hurt.

Very well said. A rebuilding team should be looking towards the future with younger players not retreads, has-been's, injury prone guys and stiffs populating the team.

🐰 4/20 Sox @ Sawx - 12:35PM 🌿
This must be a mistake, they actually scored eight runs? Feel bad for Burke those errors and all those unearned runs really screwed things up for him. And this is the first time this year the Sox trailed in the 7th inning or later and won.
