  1. Keith Law:
  2. They'd trade Castillo for whatever they can get, probably. Only has 2019 on his deal anyway, plus a team option. He's a serviceable catcher, I'm sure someone will want him
  3. Wouldn't be shocked if we signed Yasmani Grandal this offseason after missing on Manny/Harper
  4. 41 games is half a season now? Is this the NBA?
  5. Dozier has played 0 career innings at third and I think he'd be a train wreck over there
  6. Defensively, N/A. Maybe a 1B/DH who can fill in at catcher a few times a month at most, barring major improvements. Offensively, this is probably mostly legit. I was a big fan of his last year, as a .373 OBP from the catcher position is actually elite. But if he moves off catcher, the value goes down. However, since his power has gone up, I do think he could actually be a viable 1B/DH platoon guy down the road. Maybe he's a trade chip.
  7. But yesterday, everyone on Twitter loved him and was saying that he deserves more time to figure out how to hit!
  8. Evan Gattis. More so from 2013-2017 than now though
  9. I’m not trying to be sarcastic or pretentious; genuinely, if that’s how you feel, why are you a fan? Why not root for a team that better aligns with your preferences?
  10. If we had andujar, all you and anyone would do is complain about how abysmal he is defensively
  11. Nobody is blaming umpires for his struggles but you. All we’re saying is that they’re certainly not doing him any favors by calling pitches 5 inches off the plate strikes once per game. You can drop that straw man whenever you’d like
  12. It was a nasty pitch, I wouldn’t hold it against him. Tried to pull the trigger but couldn’t
  13. Straw man arguments and “the sky is falling” attitudes are a Soxtalk staple lately
  14. If we’re talking about pitches that are actually close (40-60% called strikes) then sure. But that 1-1 pitch was a ball 89% of the time. again, before anyone else takes this out of context, I am not blaming his slump on umpires
  15. I mean, the difference between a 2-1 count and a 1-2 count is pretty massive. Obviosuly he’s in a funk and this doesn’t happen EVERY at bat, but it would be just as ridiculous to ignore him getting screwed over on obvious balls as it would be to act like they’re the sole reason he’s in a slump.
  16. Another ball called a strike against Moncada. 1-2 count should’ve been 2-1. That pitch is called a ball 89% of the time.
  17. Eloy Jimenez is starting in left field and batting 3rd. I suppose the flu-like symptoms have subsided
  18. Yeah, that I understand. Suarez would cost Robert and Cease +++, and Senzel would cost Madrigal and (SP)++, I'm assuming
  19. Hahn is the one who said they're being discussed and will be re-visited in the winter
  20. Haha, not only that, but anyone who tries to declare a trade "won" or "lost" two years after it happened, when most of the people involved in the trade are still in the minor leagues, shouldn't be taken seriously anyway
  21. Pretty much all of his 2018 injuries have sounded like fluke injuries honestly
