  1. According to baseball-reference he hasn't played a game with us
  2. No, my point is that Ozzie Albies hasn't been that good since May (I used the last month because it happened to be a little worse). Yet to the Longo's of the world, he's some sort of cult god even though Moncada has a much higher ceiling.
  3. The same Albies who has a sub-685 OPS over the last month? No, I'm not ready for that.
  4. But he's smart enough to not take a Ron-like approach to Abreu, otherwise it would be obvious that he just hates Cubans
  5. Yes he is but he allows weak contact and therefore the regression isn’t as major as you’d expect. FIP overweights strikeouts in my opinion
  6. Meanwhile, Carlos Rodon is really, really good.
  7. They’re not excuses when they’re quantifiable and objective. sure, it doesn’t mean he’d be an all-star with normal umps, but they certainly have played a role
  8. And from all reports, Moncada is motivated, hard working, determined, etc. but apparently he’s lazy and doesn’t care because some people don’t like his facial expressions
  9. Honestly, at least on Twitter and social media, being a Moncada fan/supporter is more of the dark side at this point. Speaks a lot to how he's played this season. If I didn't know his numbers, I would guess based on fan reaction that he was at like .175/.200/.225 or something Engel-like.
  10. With September coming and Delmonico/call-ups able to play 1B I was sort of factoring in rest, but I guess he had 22 September RBIs last year so it's very possible. I wonder how many players have started their careers with 5 seasons of 25/100. Can't be many
  11. Yeah he's so good at pitching deep into games now. He has developed really nicely.
  12. I would love to see that but he'd need a massive September. Unfortunately I think he may need to "settle" for 93 or so. Hope I'm wrong.
  13. He's at a 117 wRC+ and an .810 OPS now, but yes, he's absolutely washed up and 39 years old and can't hit fastballs anymore!
  14. Davidson really sucks, but he makes sure to do *just enough* to not get DFA'd
  15. The math just doesn't work. There are 30 teams with 8.5 starting position players per game (since DH/no DH). That's 255 regulars. Even if you want to cut that number in half and say that only the top half teams should be counted, now you're at 128 regulars when only 52 of them met the threshold. It isn't a fair or accurate lower limit.
  16. I see. I tend to enjoy eastern religions. While they too have their issues, I feel like they aren't as rampant (in terms of child abuse) as they are with Catholicism, but the post I replied to seemed to lump every religion together.
  17. Right, I agree with you, but the quote I was discussing was purely about his 2018 season. If this is who he is forever, then I'd be disappointed, but I believe that he will improve.
  18. I don't get it- because of the issues with Catholicism? If you personally are agnostic/atheist then that's one thing, but the recurring issue here seems to be within one sect of one religion, not all organized religion.
  19. But the bold is also just not true. I wouldn't call it good but I wouldn't say he's nowhere near it either. At worst he's a slightly below average player right now.
  20. Moncada back following root canal. No Anderson
  21. He wasn't even that bad in the first inning- that 2-run double was pure luck for Martinez. I like that we used Fry for multiple innings. He isn't a loogy, despite his effectiveness against lefties. He should be given more opportunities to become a multi-inning weapon like Josh Hader.
