  1. Good, looks like the scorer may knock Cease down to 1 ER, as it should be
  2. 5/5 in stolen bases for Anderson. Meanwhile Moncada is 0/0 despite having several opportunities to run. We need to send our guys more
  3. TA should not be hitting 8th
  4. That's all on the defense. Cease got the double play ball to get out of that inning unscathed, but Yeyson choked. Then he had an out at the plate, but the catcher dropped the ball. Just like last year, the stats don't tell the story with Cease. He looked very good
  5. QUOTE (Richie @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 01:33 PM) I feel like that Abreu HBP was retaliation for Giolito hitting 3 guys yesterday. Feel like this could turn into some stupid scuffling Why would he want to hit a guy with 1 on and 1 out?
  6. Maybe I'm just biased against him because I'm too used to seeing him come up with runners on (this season) and kill rallies. I'd like him a lot more if he were batting lower in the order
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 01:28 PM) Davidson ANOTHER walk. What a start. Eh... I mean I'm happy with the walk but I wouldn't say "what a start". He still looks overmatched too often to be a cleanup hitter
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 01:26 PM) Gotcha, I didn’t see it, but thought Hawk called it a wild pitch. Castillo made a bad throw before it too
  9. QUOTE (Richie @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 01:20 PM) Rocky 1st inning for Rey I'd say it was more Castillo's fault than Reynaldo's
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 01:17 PM) The attendance wasn’t bad yesterday and it was 32 degrees 16k is bad
  11. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 12:33 PM) I posted this article in the AL Central thread and I just reread it and did not see him suggest $42 million anywhere in it. He definitely did, I read it and saw it. Did you click the "continue story" button?
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 12:05 PM) That's probably a good idea for the player. At 42 million a year or so, all he has to do is stay healthy to make similar money to a long term deal. Let's say he gets 42 million and sucks the one year. At that point he could sign a 2-year 60 million deal. Somebody would pay it. Or another 1 year deal for 30 mill. But he's always on a contender this way. This is not a bad idea for the player. No team is paying that kind of money for a 4th/5th starter.
  13. Given that pretty much everything Trevor Bauer says is wrong, no
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 05:14 PM) I wonder if Minaya is the first big leaguer this season to be sent down just for being bad. He was awful. Goes to show, spring training competition is almost a thing of the past. They’ll stick with you if you end the prior season strong. Yup. And that's how it should be. Unfortunate that Minaya has fallen apart, though
  15. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 05:05 PM) Who comes up? Probably Gomez
  16. Juan Minaya to AAA
  17. 2-4, 2B, BB, with the 2 outs being a rocket ground out and a called strike 3 (but a bad call). Great day
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 04:23 PM) Feel bad for Castillo. Sox pitchers give him 0 chance to throw people out. It sure doesn't help that he lollipops all of his throws. They're so slow, I don't know what his deal was today.
  19. QUOTE (Richie @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 03:46 PM) Moncada is honestly swinging the bat extremely well outside of ONE game so far... Nope, he's trash and we need to panic
  20. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 7, 2018 -> 11:05 AM) The ball player or board member? I kid I kid. I can't hit well in the cold, so he definitely meant me. But the joke's on him, because I can't hit well in any weather anymore!
  21. I like him but as southsider said, I think a lot of it is also Renteria. Additionally, I'm not gonna give either of them credit for Davidson or Engel, as I still don't think either of them are/will be MLB hitters. But we'll see, I hope they prove me wrong.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 09:02 PM) I’d take Engel’s glove over Leury’s without question, although Engel’s arm is pretty weak. Yeah, Engel's lack of an arm is what makes Leury more valuable by a lot of metrics. That's what I was getting at
  23. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 02:18 PM) Delmonico and L. Garcia are not outfielders, they are liabilities right now at that position. They are infielders or in Delmonico's case, a DH. Leury is our best defensive outfielder.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 6, 2018 -> 08:56 PM) https://twitter.com/darenw/status/982323596516315136/photo/1 Moncada sixth in average exit velocity. Yesterday aside, he has looked like one of our most impressive hitters so far. And that's saying something, given how well our offense has been
