  1. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 02:23 PM) Can you show me the stats? I was never ever under the impression that he was a good RH hitter. I could be wrong.. but.. prove it They're minor league stats but here you go https://www.baseball-reference.com/register...l&year=2015 .951 OPS as a righty, .753 as a lefty. Interestingly, that completely flipped the very next season: https://www.baseball-reference.com/register...l&year=2016
  2. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 02:19 PM) My exact point. IDK why he is still switch hitting.. I don't care how young he is. He needs to go complete lefty. I really don't think he'd do any better as a LHH vs LHP. Give him more time as a righty. In the past, he has been better from the right side than the left.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 01:50 PM) In 2014 he put up the highest OPS amongst 1b. 2015: 7th 2016: 10th 2017: 6th So far in his career, on average, he's the 6th best 1st baseman in MLB most years. Those numbers are not good enough. Sadly hall of fame voters don't care about OPS. They care about HR, RBI, and AVG, and as irrelevant as some of those may be, I think they qualify as good enough. Of course, it's moot since he came over at 27.
  4. While the numbers are good enough (if they sustain), he simply came over too late.
  5. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 12:28 PM) Other than loyalty I'm really failing to see why Tyler is still around. He's so old that even if he proves he's healthy he's already on the downside of his statistical peak. There's zero upside here. My guess is when Cordell comes up, it's at the expense of Tyler (DFA, maybe). You'd still have Leury, Yolmer, and even Cordell capable of filling his backup IF role.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 11:36 AM) Why the hell is Saladino in the lineup again? On the bright side, at least he's actually in the field and not DHing again. If he's gonna play, you might as well take advantage of his defense.
  7. With the pitching matchup, I could see the score being 10-9. Or 1-0.
  8. QUOTE (Special K @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 09:30 PM) As a very brief aside, is the ‘05 team the last World Series team to win a championship without a bona fide star? 2015 Royals were pretty star-free, right?
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 11:17 AM) This is interesting because there has been the urban legend that the White Sox were actually the Arod Runners Up at $160 million. Andrew Marchand?Verified account @AndrewMarchand 14h14 hours ago Andrew Marchand Retweeted Evan Grant Yes, Boras forced him to take $252M when highest next known offer was like $128M from Braves. Really? I don't remember where I heard this, but I had thought that we offered 200.
  10. Moncada, Delmonico, and Leury (I guess he counts) had great games overall. Win or lose, that's what I want to see- the young guys succeeding.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 04:45 PM) If he finishes the year at .220 AVG with a .720 OPS & 200+ K's yet is top 5 in baseball in exit velocity, I'm going to have a hard time being excited about his 2018 year. But he won't, because nobody is top 5 in exit velocity with a .220 average. Those rockets will start to fall, as we saw today.
  12. Avi had 7 runners left on base today, yikes
  13. Here we go... we better win this now
  14. Soria with a nice bounce back outing
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 04:40 PM) Call upheld: AKA not enough to overturn or confirm. It was nearly a dead tie. But from the last angle, when they went frame by frame, it appears Omar had the tag on him while his hand was still about an inch from the plate.
  16. Clearly out from that last angle. Good call
  17. Moncada with a very impressive at bat. That's what I expect to see from him in the coming years. Patience, but not to the point where it's overbearing.
  18. There we go Omar. Nice to see him drive the ball a bit
  19. Great game for Yoan, and that hit was needed for Nicky. At least the young guys are doing well.
  20. Great pitching to get out of that. I won't blame our hitters, that was a filthy sequence
  21. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 02:23 PM) Move Davidson down the order, and don't give his AB's to Saladino. Yeah, it's not that hard. Bat Davidson 6th/7th regularly until he proves with enough sample size that he's either actually better or still the same guy. If Saladino plays, he should absolutely see the field and not DH, where his defensive abilities become meaningless.
