  1. This pitcher doesn't come set, ever. Appears to be constantly balking
  2. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 05:24 PM) He's had some defensive miscues.... That isn't a lack of effort, necessarily. And I actually think his defense looks better this season, albeit in a limited sample
  3. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 05:23 PM) Abreu's effort shouldn't be in question, for sure. Was it ever?
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 05:17 PM) Love seeing this from Moncada and TA with the patience Speaking of patience, hopefully the newer posters and such have that word in their vocabulary this year since they were so up in arms already barely 10 games in. At least from what I've noticed, it's not necessarily newer posters who have been overreacting
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 05:08 PM) Good thing Ricky keeps playing for one run early in games with Mariano and company in the pen The Leury bunt from earlier was so helpful!
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:36 PM) When do publications start taking Zavala seriously as an offensive prospect? I know he’s somewhat older for a prospect, but the dude has hit at every level. His numbers so far at AA are ridiculous and he’s only improved them today with a 2/3 performance with a 2B. Even if he can’t catch, he may very well have a future at 1B/DH. To be fair, I wouldn't even say Zavala is older for a prospect, as minor league catchers generally are older than the league average anyway.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 11:08 AM) Leury is 27 as well. I am fine with keeping Leury out there, but Trayce is a better option than Engel who IMO is in way over his head. The only reason Engel was acceptable was his D, which has been rather poor so far this season. Tilson has done nothing to deserve a call up at this point. The difference is Leury is an actual MLB player, while Trayce is just not good. I do agree that he's a better option than Engel, but unfortunately I think we're stuck with him for a while.
  8. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 12:07 PM) Today's lineup: 1. Yoan Moncada (S) 2B 2. Yolmer Sanchez (S) 3B 3. Jose Abreu ® DH 4. Nicky Delmonico (L) LF 5. Matt Davidson ® 1B 6. Leury Garcia (S) RF 7. Welington Castillo ® C 8. Tim Anderson ® SS 9. Adam Engel ® CF I like that
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 10:53 AM) I agree about Trayce. When I saw he was DFA'd yesterday, thought the same thing. Why not give him a shot? Because he's 27 and there's no point in giving him ABs that could go to someone who might have a future here (Leury, Tilson, etc)
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 10:07 PM) That K% difference though... If it helps, league average K% rose by 5% between this time span
  11. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 09:58 PM) That swing is why we all believe. such good contact, practically every time. so much potential there
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 09:49 PM) Be cool if Sox claim/trade for Trayce. He probably sucks but rather watch him in CF than Enge I'd rather give those ABs to Tilson or somebody who's young and actually might have a future here
  13. QUOTE (South Sider @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 09:29 PM) Lopez, Giolito, or Fulmer should be pitching this game... just to get a taste of playoff atmosphere. That's a good idea, especially since the rainouts would mean that Fulmer or Giolito would've been good to go
  14. Good thing our bullpen got that 3 day break. We sure are using them a lot
  15. Rumored 60k plus attendance... I'll believe it when I see it
  16. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 12:17 PM) I wish the Sox would try Moncada in center field, like the Mariners did with Dee Gordon. I feel that his speed and arm would make him a great fit out there. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. He plays a good 2B. Anderson, on the other hand, I wouldn't mind throwing out there
  17. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 11:38 AM) Cordell being out means a way longer chance for Engel unless Tilson starts tearing up AAA (which might happen). He's a great defensive CFer and that's it. Not good enough to be an MLB starting CFer. I'd argue that he's a below average defensive CF. The glove was great last year but his arm was putrid. This year, more of the same with his arm, but he's taking horrible routes, missing catchable balls, etc. Of course, over the scope of his MLB career, the glove has been good overall, but his arm negates a lot of that and he has only been getting worse.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:32 PM) As a side note, if we end up dumping Narvaez in favor of Smith it will be one the all time low-key stupid decisions we have ever made James Fegan tweeted that the "rehab assignment" is basically just Smith staying in AAA until one of our catchers gets hurt or something
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:13 PM) cya guys later. QUOTE (aryzner @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:14 PM) Aaaaand time to go to bed. Goodnight. ^
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:11 PM) Still haven't played anyone above average. This weekend should be fun I fully expect us to take 2 out of 3 from Houston, because White Sox
  21. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:10 PM) even the a's crew is s***ting on the sox now. I don't blame them
  22. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 10:58 PM) Are the sox hitters really this bad? No. But the Sox pitchers aren't really this good.
