Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 13, 2017 -> 05:03 PM) I doubt it's the Sox being reluctant to eat money in a trade. Is eating money in a trade any different than releasing players and still paying them to not be on the team anymore? At least when a team eats money in a trade they are receiving players in return. Hell, the Sox paid LaRoche to take his family on vacation and sit on ass watching duck dynasty last summer. When did the sox pay for Laroche last year?

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/renteri...-job-to-do/amp/ David Robertson also has value as a proven closer and set-up man and is at or near the contending Washington Nationals’ priority list. Some believe Robertson could go this week, if the two sides come to an agreement on prospects going to the Sox in return and the amount of salary the Nationals are willing to pay. Robertson has $11 million and $12 million on the last two years of his four-year deal, and the Sox historically are not big on eating contract dollars.

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 6, 2017 -> 08:56 AM) Worth mentioning that the agreement with Dodgers and Romo has not happened yet because a team that was in the mix upped their offer to him. I figure that would have to be the Nationals. Rosenthal is now saying romo to dodgers pending physical. Hope that puts pressure in nationals now

Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate
http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/washing...osenthal-020617 That might change soon; the Nats continue to discuss a trade with the White Sox for closer David Robertson, according to major-league sources. Robertson is owed $12 million this season and $13 million next season, creating an all-too-typical Nats obstacle. The team does not want to absorb Robertson’s entire obligation, and does not want to move additional prospects after parting with three young pitchers for Eaton, sources say.

Reported last night that #Dodgers are finalist for Romo and also talking to Blanton. Another reliever who remains on their radar: Blevins. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/827557893826306049 If romo signs with dodgers could be a fallout of nationals going after robertson since they were on romo

White Sox Media Hits Thread
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 06:04 PM) Did anyone see this interview? He said trade talks are heating up again. Said sox thought they would have traded him already but market slowed down after sale and eaton trades. Said contenders are talking again to sox about Quintana and specifically named astros and rangers. Also said thinks astros should be right there and that with the 2 extra picks they got for the Cardinals that they might feel better trading an exrta prospect.

Rangers have increased pursuit of Q?
QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 11:21 PM) I missed that quote. Where is it? They have been primarily focusing on Jose Quintana of the Chicago White Sox and Sonny Gray of the Oakland Athletics, Crane says.

Rangers have increased pursuit of Q?
Rick Hahn said Friday at SoxFest #WhiteSox are still active in talks -- no specifics. Also insisted team won't come down on its price. https://t.co/sNlAfwS3cz https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/826924983872057355

Talks on going in Q and Frazier markets
QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 02:38 PM) If you want to hear Hahn, he was on with Rongey for five minutes at midnight last night saying goodbye to him, and had those quotes. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/audio/670-the-score-interviews/ I do find it interesting that when Rongey asked hahn about if hes confident in the current group of players they have will be going into the season with, hahn said a decent chance but not yet sure these will be the players and hes having dialogue with teams still. Said if the possibly talks dont turn into trades the next few weeks then maybe the next couple of months into the season.

Talks on going in Q and Frazier markets
http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/01/26/gm-...ing-on-rebuild/ The White Sox continue to carry on discussions with other teams, with left-hander Jose Quintana and third baseman Todd Frazier on the trade market. Asked if the White Sox as currently constructed would be the team that first-year manager Rick Renteria opens spring training with in mid-February, Hahn wasn’t certain. “I don’t think we’re there yet,” Hahn said. “We’re still having dialogue with other clubs. It is possible we end up finding that match on some of these deals that we’ve been discussing. I’m not quite to that point yet, but there certainly is that possibility.”

The #Astros, in need for a starter, remain engaged with #WhiteSox for Jose Quintana, #Rays for Chris Archer and #Athletics for Sonny Gray. https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/821457595886141441

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 12:51 PM) I feel like the A's would be better waiting until Quintana is off the market to sell Gray. I mean once Q is gone there is literally nobody left available unless you want to sacrifice your entire farm for Archer. Makes sense that Houston would already be going after Gray if they are out on Q...try and get ahead of the Gray market before it explodes. A's arent moving gray until he can sorta be healthy and get back to pitching better. Hes stock is low. A's can still afford to let him trying coming back and trade him down the line.

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 16, 2017 -> 12:30 PM) Feels like people take these rumors personally. Why wouldn't the Astros monitor the Gray situation? If you could get him for .50 on the dollar wouldn't you call? Im sure the astros are trying to exhaust all options but theres no way the A's would sell gray for .50 on the dollar. Im sure thats what the astros think but there will be a wake up call.

Teams have upped their offers in Q derby in the last week
I think the astros are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Quintana is the best option out there and they arent paying up to get him. They tried for archer which probably wasnt going to be traded after a down year and would still take a hefty package to get him. They are trying to go after sonny gray but hes had a bad year and been injured. You know the A's arent going to sell low on him. Will probably have the astros come crawling back to Quintana eventually. Really not many choices
