  1. I'm good with this. We need an impact bat. I'm hoping for Heyward albeit not realistic
  2. Wow. Brantley is going to end up like Sizemore
  3. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 08:11 PM) Is there anybody that you would actually want? I bet if Mike Trout hit the market you would find some way to talk yourself into thinking he isnt good enough. Lol nope. He probably wants us to stay pat
  4. @DODay56: Contrary to the news, I have not reached an agreement with the O's yet. I am flattered by all the attention, but reports are premature.
  5. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 01:11 PM) I would prefer Cespedes cause he's played an in AL and doesnt have a pick attached Cespedes over Upton for me.
  6. Yup. So really we'd be signing him to like a 5 year deal.
  7. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) I think if we were to get him on an 8/9 year deal with opt-outd after year 4 or 5, his older years won't even matter because he likely won't be our problem. Ya I agree. He's in a unique position being 26 years old. He'll double dip.
  8. I still think we could sign one of those OFers. They tried to sign Shark long term, so why not?
  9. Go get your money man, you had injury issues. Bounced back well. Won a title with the Royals.
  10. @philgrogers: Now let's see if the #Cubs really are going to trade prospects for a top closer? David Robertson, maybe? Brad Boxberger? #WhiteSox #Rays
  11. @MLBBruceLevine: White Sox right handed starter- Third baseman -middle infield help will be Nashville targets
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 10:23 AM) that is point. Anyone thinking some of the asks on here are crazy, I think that is wrong. It is exactly what it would take. You can't take maybes for Chris Sale. Once he is gone, he is gone, and to get someone near him back, it costs $200 million. That's why I said you'd need someone like Arenado to start the talks.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 10:07 AM) Fister wasn't an ace but that was a bad trade. Teams hold on to their aces. When was the last time an ace was traded before he was nearing free agency? Or had 4 years remaining on a contract that pays him 1/3 of what teams would pay him. And on top of that, has $1 million buyouts the last 2 seasons in case of injury? When you put all this together, the unprecedented package requirement makes a ton of sense because you would be trading away an unprecedented package. That's why I posted my package but apparently I was on crack...
  14. @Buster_ESPN: Other teams say Oakland is devoted to the idea of trading Brett Lawrie.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) A little long in the tooth. Iguchi put up a .903 OPS in Japan in 2013 as a 38 year old. If he is reasonably cheap, he is probably a better choice than David Freese. Loved me some Iguchi
  16. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 03:22 AM) There are 30 picks in the 1st round. Then there are 16 players that received QO's. It goes by order of record so Padres get 1st 2 comp picks (Kennedy, Upton) and the Sox get the 3rd pick (#33). 3 teams (Cubs, Giants, DBacks) have forfeited 1st round picks so far so the Sox have moved up to #30. Should keep moving up higher as well. Who cost the pick for the Cubs?
  17. The reason I'm ok with moving Sale, for the right package, is because this team can draft and develop pitching. I don't see some team ponying up for him though. It'd be a lot to give up for him. Sale will be our King Felix. Always bantered about but never dealt.
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 09:52 PM) I'm not trying to be a s*** but this is a thread about Sale and whether or not he should/could be traded. I'm pretty sure there's a thread about Q somewhere. Just hate to see stuff get all mixed is all. Amen
  19. Unless it's too good to pass on, I'd rather keep my closer and have a legit closer to win games
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 01:47 AM) While I do agree with you about prospects missing all the time, they still hold significant value to clubs because of how huge of dividends they can pay if they DO hit. Trading for top prospects is high risk/high reward. It's like saying there is no value in being given $100,000 worth of lottery tickets because the chances of winning the lottery are so slim anyway. Agree with both of ya. I also think now is the time to move Sale if you have a a crazy package. I prefer Q of the two. If I move Sale, I move Q also. Load up on young talent.
  21. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 01:01 AM) Sox aren't getting Seager, Pederson, Urias and DeLeon for Sale. You have to be smoking serious rocks if you think that. Your best bet is to get two of those guys and maybe Puig while also taking on Carl Crawford's contract. So for the most valuable pitcher in baseball, we get one of the four I mentioned, plus Puig coming off a down year and now with more off-field issues and we have to take on Carl Crawford.....right and I'm the one smoking crack...yah agree to disagree on that one.
  22. QUOTE (Wanne @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 12:08 AM) Not sure...just his overall motion which some have mentioned. I know many have suffered it..but the point is capitalize BEFORE it happens. Who knows...for his sake I hope it never does. At this point I think I'd rather take a huge haul in return. I mean I've said all along the LAD make most sense due to prospects and young bats.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 12:12 AM) They don't lose a pick for Cueto or Leake. Oh they were traded my bad forgot that.
  24. QUOTE (Wanne @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 11:49 PM) this...and by A LOT! LAD are desperate right now I'd imagine given the DBags signing Greinke...who knows. But I'd definitely be inclined to deal Sale for an overwhelming blockbuster to the Dodgers or Cubs. Sale's elbow just scares the s*** outta me and if you get the chance to get a HAUL for him right now...you do it IMO. I realize he's a once in a generation-type lefty pitcher...but good lord...it's the Sox luck his ulnar gives. Not trying to throw bad vibes...just being practical. Why does it scare you? He's not at any more of a risk than the stud pitchers who have suffered them (Harvey, Fernandez, etc.)
