  1. I like that thought process rabbit! I did a mock offseason for the hell of it last night and had us signing Wieters, Freese, AC to stop gap Anderson and trade for Puig.
  2. Meh, that's not enough house for me and Siberian Husky
  3. 5/150 got it done on MLB the show Although my real offseason was adding Wieters, Frees, Asdrubal and trading for Puig.
  4. I want Heyward too but I can't see us being the top bid.
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:50 AM) If we're just going to continue assuming we're never going to develop any hitters, might as well trade Anderson before he busts, right? That's bulls*** and you know it.
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:29 AM) Q is another subject we might not see eye to eye my man. Unless the Sox are offered a haul they just cannot pass up, I think Q will be the #2 for the '16 White Sox. I doubt seriously the Sox are shopping Q. Just my opinion is all. One thing I'd like to point out is that this will be my third off season on this board and the third off season in which some members wanted to trade Q. I still remember the trade Q for Jason Castro idea a few years ago and thank goodness that didn't happen. For the record, this is the first time I've wanted to trade him. Q is one of my favorite players. Has always been. But, we need an impact bat. I really doubt were signing Upton, Cespedes or Heyward. My pipe dream with Rockies is just that. Q is probably more likely to be dealt to the Dodgers for Puig. And yes, thankfully that trade didn't happen.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 10:08 AM) Yeah, it's over. This team can't be good until 2030 at the earliest. Well then. Guess we should shut the site down until then...
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 01:27 AM) Probably neither should be moved at least for another year. If Q continues to be the pitcher he has been ,the Sox hold options on him through 2020. Not sure how long the Sox have Rodon for but you'd have to think if he continues to develop there's only a very slim chance of him signing an extension like Q did. I think that ultimately makes him more tradeable but not until he establishes more value. The Sox also need more time to see how Eric Johnson and Fulmer and Montas progress so a trade of a starter doesn't hurt as much. We can develop hitting for s***. So we need to move Q for for a package with an impact bat.
  9. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 09:46 AM) “I was shocked, we all were, by Tulo getting traded. I’m hurt. Tulo’s been the one guy who has been by my side ever since I was in (Single-A) Asheville. It’s disappointing. That is not the guy I wanted to see go . . . I don’t know any of these dudes we got. But I think if we were going to trade Tulo, I would think it would be for an ace, an established veteran pitcher. Obviously we are starting to rebuild from the ground up.” He was surprised and upset by losing his friend and mentor but he did not speak negatively about the Rockies organization. Yep and with the Rockies holding control over him through the '19 season there's no reason to trade him at this point. IMO, if the Rockies trade Arenado it won't be until after the '16 season when they have had another year to evaluate McMahon who's earliest projection is the '17 season. That would still leave three years of team control over Arenado which would still hold plenty of value on the trade market IF the Rockies decided to trade Arenado. They could wait until after the '17 season, trade him with two years of control left ( like Beane) and still get a haul. There's just no reason for the Rockies to trade Arenado right now. Ok ya that's what I was thinking of. Well he didn't come out and curse the organization but he wasn't happy at all. Never say never in this league. This team will have offers and good ones when they're trying to move Quintana.
  10. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) I remember Arenado speaking about how surprised he was with the Tulo trade and how he thought CarGo could be next but I wouldn't consider that speaking out against the organization. Regardless if Arenado is happy or not, he is still worth a ton on the trade market and is exactly the type of player to build around so the Rockies have no incentive to move him. So who will be to blame next spring when Arenado is still wearing a Rockies uniform? KW? Hahn? JR? Adam Dunn? I'll find the article but I thought he was talking different than being surprised. I thought he was pissed off. Maybe I'm wrong.
  11. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 12:50 AM) Arenado is not on the block. If he was, you're not getting him for Q. Now you want him and CarGo for Q? That deal would take you Sale, Q, Fullmer, and Abreu. I don't think you realize how much Colorado wants to build around Arenado. I think you honestly have a better shot at getting Stanton. Either which way, out of the midlevel options I really like Murphy & Fowler as well. First of all. You undervalue Q. Second, you probably don't pay attention to tea leaves around the league. Arenado will be traded at some point in the next year or two.. He's not staying with Colorado. He came out publicly about the way Tulo was treated. He's also a Boras client IIRC. Also I said a package with Q. Like Q, Montas, Trey and Garcia for Arenado, CarGo and a pitching prospect. You also way overvalue Arenado compared to our guys. Sale, Abreu and Fulmer? Lol I'm crazy. I come up with crazy ideas. But trade is how we're making an impact on this team this season.
  12. QUOTE (jamesdiego @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 09:23 PM) I trade Sale way before Q. Sale can bring back so much more and we need it. Just do it! Lol
  13. I'd be ok with signing Wieters at catcher. AC for stop gap SS. Then big blockbuster Quintana package for Cargo and Arenado. My dream for a couple months before shattered lol.
  14. Well I'd certainly be ok with this. Hope one of ours chimes in if they got anything.
  15. I would never sign a FA pitcher to a giant contract. Don't need to.
  16. I'm not ragging on him was merely saying that it's too early. I'm not name calling or anything. Just wait til we make a few moves in December first.
  17. Lol the season just ended. We aren't even to the winter meetings yet. Can't do predictions until about January.
  18. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 07:42 PM) They are not that far away but I agree they need to make a couple of major successful moves. I say not that far away in that they have 3 very good LH starting pitchers. Few teams have 3 starting pitchers as good as the Sox do. I think they can trade Q or Rodon and get back at least 2 very good players in return. That would weaken the starting pitching but improve the offense and hopefully defense. Then by 2017 they can get or bring up ( Fulmer) a #3 type starter to replace the traded pitcher and Johnson can hopefully replace Shark. Anderson should also be a possibility for 2017 as well. Q would be moved not Rodon. I fully expect Q to be moved for an impact bat or package for a blockbuster bat.
  19. This team needs a slight overhaul defensively. I'd push hard for Arenado. He's under control in COL but will not stay there. There's some bad blood over how the Tulo trade went down. Arenado even had a quote about it. They could move he and CarGo.
  20. Any rumblings on who the bench coach might be?
  21. This team isn't close unless we make a couple major moves.
  22. No way they can look at this team and think..."Hmm keep this the way it is and we'll win." This lineup is dogs***. They need to add two impact bats at least. We need another starter. Oh and this team sucks fundamentally.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 09:11 PM) For everyone supporting Ventura despite everything, those fans can't help but acknowledge it's starting to drive even the best White Sox fans away from something they used to feel so passionate about. While Maddon isn't a genius, he's at least competent...it doesn't take much to see what a positive and enthusiastic manager can do to revitalize a franchise and get renewed buy-in from veteran players rather than falling off a cliff. The Cubs with Maddon, the Rangers with Banister, the Royals with Yost..they recognized changes were necessary, the Astros with Hinch, etc. If you listen to their post-game press conferences and read their quotes, you'll see a world of difference. Or Matheny's confidence in the Cardinals' methodology continuing to succeed with all the players essentially being interchangeable parts of a greater synergy. If nothing else, they need to find an experienced manager like Terry Collins who has the patience to deal with younger players and rebuilding...like Torborg and Manuel back in the day. Robin always seems exasperated, like he has no idea of what he can do or try to get a different result. I agree. If we had a competent manager then I could at least give this team some interest, but if they don't care about winning on a consistent basis then why should I?
