We are in total agreement. If the Sox coveted Machado a year ago, why would they not be interested in Rendon, an arguably better player and leader? I'm not thrilled with what might be available in next offseason's free agency at this stage, short of Betts possibly. Rendon is available for the taking now, what player could we add that would help us contend more the next 5-7 years? If the Sox were going to be cavalier and take a risk, it would be a stealthy Rendon pursuit.

Been pounding the table that the Sox should dive in on Rendon all offseason. Legit top ten player in the game, should age well and can guide us to the promised land in the middle of our batting order. Being realistic, we aren't sniffing Cole or Rendon

When the money is similar the player and his family have to consider secondary reasons for signing. In Wheeler's case we simply could not overcome geography.

There are tons of backend starters available in free agency, there is no rush. Asking prices are all high now, and will come down as we get further into the winter. Patience, the Sox appear to be stealthily hunting.

Boston would have to eat quite a bit of cash for this to make sense, because no way in hell would a club take on Price for 3/96 million, even with Benintendi. prospect cost would be essentially nothing, even if the Red Sox kicked in $20 million and Benintendi from a value standpoint. Price wouldn’t get anywhere near 3/76 in free agency right now still.

The Moustakas four year, $64 million deal has Castellanos and Ozuna’s camps seeing dollar signs. Both are asking for five year deals around $100 million. pass on both at that cost

Asking prices for Ozuna and Castellanos are currently outrageous. You aren’t hearing much about their markets for a reason.
