  1. Robert at #18 on fangraphs list is criminal after the 2019 season he had
  2. Trading with the Rays would make me pretty nervous after they fleeced the Pirates in the Archer deal. Their limited budget forces their scouting and player development to be top notch in order to compete. I would be interested in who the Rays would ask for, knowing they clearly see something in those guys. Tampa has the best farm in baseball right now.
  3. Of course, hence why I'm not diving all over Ozuna/Castellanos at current exorbitant asking prices
  4. Probably eating breakfast and drinking coffee. It's 8:00 am on the West Coast
  5. With how injury prone he has been I'd pass on Pollack. Either Castellanos/Ozuna would be major offensive upgrades for the club that we could not complain about. I'm ok with any MLB starting caliber RF after the horror show the past few years have been out there.
  6. I disagree a bit with this^ Yes, 2019 was plagued by injuries and poor performance out of many name prospects in our system, but you still have no idea how other clubs view our prospects. Teams can be higher or lower on certain players than you may think. Guys like Tyler Johnson/Code Heuer/Bernardo Flores could certainly draw interest. Not saying they would headline a deal, but they could certainly help a trade package.
  7. Go all in on Rendon *option one* I like Ryu best of the remaining starting pitchers. Yes, he is an injury risk, but he's outstanding when healthy.
  8. I don't think Rendon gets more AAV than Trout's $37.16 million starting next season. I do think Rendon gets mid $30's AAV on a 6-7 year deal. He rejected 7/210 from the Nats, so you know he's not singing for less than that.
  9. Enjoy this highlight reel of Guerrero throwing gas Dude easily reaches back and throws 100-103. Control sucks, but still really impressive.
  10. Springer is still going to be extremely expensive next offseason and will be older than Rendon is, 31 vs 29 If the Sox were willing to offer huge money to Machado, why would they not at least consider going huge for Rendon, an arguably better player?
  11. We all can dare to dream, but the Sox inking Rendon would be the biggest signing in franchise history. There is no way that it could not be seen as a bold and incredible move for the club.
  12. Guerrero throws hard, but walks way too many batters to be effective
  13. I'm arguably more curious about Shogo Akiyama https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/eyewitness_bat.php?reportid=589 Akiyama is intriguing because he plays plus defense. He could play CF or RF and has upside despite his age. I like the well rounded profile more than the power profile of Tsutsugo.
  14. I'm all on board with heavy pursuit of Rendon, no other free agent the next two years, outside of Betts, could help our contention chances more.
  15. Twins absolutely should go all in to win in 2020 because the White Sox will only be much stronger by 2021 onward. Sox are rising at a time the well coincides with the Royals, Tigers and especially Indians' decline.
  16. Quality starting pitching is too expensive for the Sox to be trading for at this stage. It would be a different story if we were one quality starter away from being able to make a deep playoff run, but we just are not there yet. We have created this financial flexibility and should leverage it to improve the roster in any way possible. Teams will certainly ask for our top young assets like Madrigal, Cease, Kopech, and Vaughn, which we should not be trading.
  17. Sox absolutely need to start Kopech in AAA to allow him to work his way back up to starting, and to gain the season of control they lost due to injury back. No chance they let Kopech walk in four seasons, get that fifth year of control back.
  18. That was my expect sentiment when I saw the deal on twitter. Surprised Pineda could not get a larger commitment elsewhere given how pricy pitching has become. He's not a world beater, but is a solid #3/4 guy.
  19. 2021 is more realistic for contention, agreed. This offseason is key for the Sox to transition towards winning though, as we cannot leave all the acquisitions to help the club until next offseason.
  20. I think the Sox front office is smart enough to realize MBum is not a fit or our answer I do not mind driving his pricetag up for other clubs though
  21. Take this with a huge grain of salt...
  22. Beyond wishful thinking, I realize. But can you imagine the utter jubilation for the Sox fanbase if we signed Rendon? It would put the Sox on the map in a major way, and announce to the MLB here we come. It could be our roll of the dice to try and win a WS
