  1. Gonzalez has been something of a find. Not a world beater, but his career isn't over.
  2. Did the Sox sign him to a major league or minor league deal? If its the former the Sox have to either DFA him or play him on the 25 once he's done with rehab. He wont be riding the bus any longer than he wants to.
  3. It was a tough call but I dont see Ichiro having the same long term future as Harper.
  4. If I could pick any two MVP's I think I would take Mike Trout and Bryce Harper instead of Jimmy Rollins and Justin Morneau.
  5. /Morneau picks up bat /tears everything /60 day DL /"Pinch hitting as designated hitter, #26 Avisail Garca"
  6. He's so perma-concussed at this point he doesn't know who he is. The best the Sox can hope for is some freak of medical science that basically loses all sentience from repeated blows to the head and becomes a mindless destroyed of all things round. Kind of like a superhero origin story. I'm not holding my breath.
  7. Its just sad. The Sox have nobody in the minors they trust to bring up, nobody on the big league squad who can do anything...only place they have to go is the dumpster.
  8. I dont know if JB Shuck can go two days in a row, might have to use Danish tonight if things get messy.
  9. Baez looks to be at least decent, but he's a Hendry pick. Schwarber looked good, but he couldn't play in the NL before and he sure as hell wont be able to play in the NL going forward. The best players on the Cubs this year have been Zobrist and Fowler...we'll see how well that sustains itself.
  10. Can we DFA Robertson too? How about Albers? God PLEASE can Duke be sent packing?
  11. Is he out of options? Can the Sox give up some spare parts and then force him to play in Kannapolis forever?
  12. This is exactly correct. The Cubs have actually done a pretty poor job developing their players aside from Bryant and have covered it up by dropping an ubsurd amount of money on guys. The Sox would have much less of a margin for error on their rebuild, but they would also being selling some of the most valuable contracts in the game with Q, Sale and Eaton and would accrue a massive amount of talent in return.
  13. The lakefront is really cold about 9 months of the year. In late June, July, August and early September it would indeed be glorious having the Sox play on the site of the current McCormick Place east bldg, but April and May would be absolutely miserable there.
  14. With the return the Sox could get for Sale and Quintana alone they could compete as soon as next year. It would require Rodon improving dramatically, but it could happen. That's not even counting what Melky and Eaton could bring in, and the "addition by subtraction" benefits of salary dumping that loser Robertson.
  15. Ideally it makes the relationship between Chris Sale and the White Sox untenable and he demands a trade. You just hope they'd keep it under wraps for the benefit of all parties involved and deal him with little fanfare.
  16. Not many employers keep you around after failing miserably for years and years non stop.
  17. If Hahn really wants to rebuild then this collapse has to be the "I told you so" moment that gives him permission to start selling.
