  1. finally something normal. see how easy it is when you're not trying to be the smartest guy in the room, Pace? Bullard is appropriately aged for an NFL draft prospect, has a size/strength/speed combination that doesn't need a bunch of development and he was productive at Florida! And there wasnt a bunch of wanna-be wheeling and dealing... just wait for your pick and take the guy. Too bad it took until R3 for the Bears to make a normal selection
  2. Fine... maybe I dont get Spence and have to "settle" for a guy like A'Shawn Robinson who should've been drafted top 20.
  3. I guess Ted Larson and Manny Ramirez are feeling even more redundant.
  4. Yes, I could execute Pace's plan better than Pace has. Here's how: 1. Stay at 11, grab the best OT prospect since Joe Thomas. 2. Trade 4th and 2nd to move up and grab Noah Spence I guess I wouldnt be able to dominate the 4th round the way Pace plans to, but at least the Bears could sleep well knowing they wouldnt have to worry about the LT position until the 2030's.
  5. Dude a computer could do a better job than Pace has done. He f***ed up dealing away a 4th to jump New York for a mediocre player, then overcompensated in the 2nd to get that 4th back and watched the Packers (of all teams!) get his guy. Pace is a clown.
  6. The one position the Bears have good players at is G. Long and Slausen are fine, this guy serves no f***ing purpose unless they want to move him to RT. We saw how that worked with Long... NOT WELL. Pace has no plan and has been blindsided so many times by other GM's he's just picking random players. He's overmatched.
  7. Interested to see what the Pace Defense Force has to say now.
  8. So they traded down when they could've easily had him? Its not like they didnt have a chance at Spriggs earlier this round....
  9. They're gonna take a QB next, I can sense it. I can at least see the value in that.
  10. Tonight is what happens you allow losers to play like s*** over and over and stick around. The culture of this team changed last night, and by not getting rid of Danks immediately they may never get back what they had. Every spot on the 25 man matters...
  11. All it took was one Danks start to remind this team who they really are. It was a fun start.
  12. Well the Bills drafted a better player in the 2nd than the Bears did in the 1st....and that's kind of what this whole song and dance is about in the end.
  13. Could've just stood pat at 11, gotten a better player than Floyd and not had to back up 8 picks in the 2nd where you guaranteed a shot at Ragland, Henry, Robinson, Bell, Thomas... any number of the studs who have dropped.
  14. I have absolutely zero confidence in Pace. He traded up when he should have let the player fall to him (I think the Giants hoodwinked the Bears into keeping the Bucs fron taking Apple), and now is trading down when he's going to have a stud fall into his lap. I wish I was raised something other than a Bears fan.
  15. So far there are 2 players (Jack, Ogbah) taken in the 2nd round that I would rather have than the guy the Bears trade up to draft in the top 10. Can't wait for them to make a mockery of their second round pick too.
  16. Kenny Williams is not going to stand pat at the deadline. Either someone will step up play like a good ML pitcher (not just a good 5th starter) or the Sox will find one. I think the ideal postseason pitching situation for this team is a 4 mean of Sale-Quintana-Rodon-<acquisition> with Cy Latos coming out of the pen. Of course the more John Danks starts games the less likely it is that the Sox execute any sort of playoff plan.
  17. Other than one bad start by Rodon the only time the Sox have been run out of games is Danks starts. This early 0-7 deficit is going to be exceedingly rare when Danks is no longer starting games. Put Danks on the 60 day DL, if he can throw 90+ with command in his rehab starts he can try and earn his way back onto the team in July. If he can't then just DFA him.
  18. At 16-7 the fans have more belief in this team than the manager. Hahn and Kenny need to step in and make this decision for Robin, and if they can't someone has to go wake up the Chairman. It is completely inexcusable for Danks to throw another pitch in this uniform ever again, especially if the team is competing for something meaningful. Winning teams would have John Danks sent far, far away...
  19. How many elite edge rushers are there over age 28? I mean a few but not many... it's a brutal game and the instant many of these guys lose a step it's basically the end. Floyd should be at or right on the cusp of his absolute physical peak. If he is at or near that peak we should all be very worried about his lack of production at UGA (screw the coaches, great players make plays). If he isn't near that peak yet, I have to wonder what the hell he's been doing the last 2 years in the weight room and how much of his prime explosiveness and speed is going to be wasted getting him to fill out his frame.
  20. He's much older than Aldon Smith was coming out of Mizzou. If Floyd were 20 or 21 I could buy him needing to fill out... but that isnt the case. He's a developmental player that doesn't have any time to develop.
  21. I am not worried at all about Anderson now that we know what the basis of that "mysterious disappearance" was. He'll be fine, the biggest concern for me has always been his defense and from what I understand that continues to improve. In the end, I don't think he's going to be in the Sox org much longer. Other teams have things the Sox are going to want very badly, and Anderson is a chip the Sox can cash in for something very, very useful.
  22. I'm really not trying to pile on, but that only makes you feel worse. He's a late-riser based on pure athleticism and the two much better options at linebacker careening down draft boards due to injury. That's not encouraging. The Justin Houston comparison is a hollow one. Houston already weighed 30 lbs more than Floyd when Houston came out. And Floyd should have a mature build now than Houston did then, Houston has been in the league 5 years and he'll only be 3 years older than Floyd for Game 1. Houston also had 7.5 and 10.0 sacks his last two years at UGA, Floyd wishes he had those numbers. The fact that he can supposedly play in a 4-3 doesn't matter to the Bears, because the Bears run a 3-4. They never mix fronts like that with Fangio either. I'm sorry guys, I know you want to believe in Pace, but this was a s***ty pick. It was even s***tier to burn a 4th moving up for him. Pace can still be a good GM after Floyd busts, but this pick could've been used so many better ways and it will haunt the Bears.
