  1. They don’t do the little things to win games. They are now last in the American League in OBP with the fewest walks in the league, no one has told our dolts that a walk is as good as a hit and 100% better than a strikeout.
  2. Another typical Sox loss with 11 Ks and 1 walk. 12 games under .500 with a tough schedule coming up in June. We will be sellers pretty soon. Moncada and Robert are back in their useless mode, 8 ABs last night with 6 Ks. Robert never makes adjustments while at bat, same swing regardless of the pitch location, just doesn’t have baseball smarts. Kopech wasn’t bad after the first inning, there’s still hope for him. If we sell, what scenario should be used, do we rebuild again or trade for players that will hopefully contribute immediately, I’m too old for another failed rebuild.
  3. The Cardinals were almost an afterthought in their last years in Chicago, never sold out unless they were playing the Bears plus Papa Bear Halas did everything he could to make life miserable for the Cardinals as he was the unofficial Commissioner of the NFL for many years. The Sox aren’t an afterthought in Chicago but are nowhere close to Chicago becoming a Sox town, the last place Cubs drew 40,000 yesterday and 38,000 today, the Sox tonight will probably draw around 20,000. BTW Cubs Strohman pitched a great complete game today, shut out the Rays on 1 hit.
  4. I’m going on 78 and running out of time, so far in 71 years of fandom I’ve seen them in 2 World Series and to be honest and sad about it the odds are I won’t see another one.
  5. A long time for me is back in the 50s and 60s with Paul Richards, Al Lopez and Eddie Stanky who were all great managers especially Lopez who is the best Sox manager of all time. Chuck Tanner in the early 70s was pretty good also.
  6. Good for him, on a pace for 3 for the year.
  7. Because the last hiiting coach wanted them to hit singles and not swing for the fences. Could be one of the reasons that Abreu only hit 15 homers last year and has none for the Astros this year.
  8. Hawk hired Jim Fregosi who was experienced and was a good baseball man but had bad players. Jeff Torberg was also a good hire. Firing Renteria and bringing in TLR was one of the biggest blunders in White Sox history.
  9. Our hitting coach was a career minor leaguer for 14 years and never made to the Major Leauges.
  10. The Tigers will score in the bottom of the 10th, trust me.
  11. Best player on the field screws up.
  12. Just terrible, you can’t let that ball get by you.
  13. It’s tougher to hit a homer in left field there than it was at an old Comiskey with the original dimensions pre 1982.
  14. Any talk of Moncada at second and Burger at third has to stop, I’ve never been a Yoan fan but he’s an excellent third sacker. I would rotate Burger, Sheets and Vaughn at first base and DH while living with Eloy in RF.
  15. Hey Jason, Nellie Fox went over 700 games without a day off and then there was Ripken and Gehrig.
  16. So how’s the all righty lineup against a lefty pitcher working out.
  17. What’s there to like, the whole franchise is unlikeable from the jerk owner to the incompetent general manager to a bunch of stiffs on the field and everybody else in between.
  18. Between Gio on Thursday and Cease today I’ve seen enough walks to last the season.
