QUOTE(Felix @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:35 AM) Pods isn't in the game (I don't think at least) you're right. Pods wasn't in the game for more than one pitch.

ok, let pods be the hero. I don't care. somebody be the hero.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:19 AM) Credit this and any additional runs this inning to not having a lefty in the bullpen not named Cotts who Ozzie could have minimal confidence it. javier lopez has given up one run all season at Charlotte heath phillips has pitched well. there are flights from Charlotte to Chicago. what's the problem? If you don't have faith in Logan and Thorton against a team like Tampa, why have them on the team?

shameful. no faith in the pen. no production from the bottom of the order.
-
05/18-@ Tampa Bay
this team hasn 't played well for two weeks. can't keep carrying the cancerous bat of brian anderson forever.
-
05/18-@ Tampa Bay
think of the bright side: We got Pods and AJ ready to come off the bench.

Detroit For Real
wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Detroit to go away. They finally have a legit GM and manager. They built a team that fits their park -- pitching oriented. And they've got a veteran lineup with guys who have pennant race experience. They won't play at a 27-13 pace all season. But they're a 90-win team.

Which sweep is sweeter?
1. Sweeping Astros in World Series. 2. Sweeping BoSox in Division Series. 3. Sweeping Cubs any time.

I have a lot of respect for Joe Crede now
he's right there with any third baseman in the league -- and he's got more rings than ARod.

have we ever faced Baker? Is Dye just resting or reinjured?

The Rowand Catch
Come back A Row as soon as you're a free agent. Grinder Extraordinare.

Crash Breaks Nose
i'm just counting the days until A. Row finishes his career with the Sox. Gamer Deluxe.

Haeger
The walks shouldn't surprise anybody. he walked 20 in 40 innings against overanxious, scrappy Triple A hitters. hate to see him against a team that can really rake -- and is patient.
-
Charlie Float question
just need decent show me fastball that he can spot. older sox fans remember Wilbur Wood, Eddie Fisher and The Good Doctor -- Hoyt Wilhelm. Wood started both game of a doubleheader once and always threw a s*** pot of innings. Major concern I have tonight is if he walks guys, the Angels will run like crazy. it's tough to catch and it's slow getting to the plate. can't be walkin Figgins.
-
If Crede keeps this up...
ever since Crede hit the critical long ball of last season -- the one off Riske to beat Cleveland in late September -- his confidence has been through the roof. lock him up. He's just getting into his prime time.
-
Hermanson to resume throwing
love to have Hermanson for August, September and october. I think that was the Sox plan: give him time to see if he can pitch for the last three months of the season. cross your fingers.
-
Tonight's Catcher
AJ can get Charlie to the sixth -- and then have the bullpen bring it home. they should be rested and ready to work four innings as a group.
-
For your amusement...
i wish joe nothing but the best. very solid guy. and he can help us by bashing the Cubs a time or two.

Gamethread 5-2-05 vs. Cleveland Injuns
ball game. let logan and Thornton finish it out. maybe it will start raining harder. And then go find a center fielder. Is Randy Winn available? Maybe San Diego would dump Cameron's salary. Padres are not going to contend. hope for a Royals win over the Tigers and come home and repay the Mariners.

Sox sign RP Jeff Nelson
Anderson's confidence has to be sub zero he needs to go down and get some hits before he returns.
