  1. Lawton has been cocky all the way back to the Twinkie Dome. And the tribe has a bunch of guys who don't know how to wear their hats. Plunk away
  2. a few more runs wouldn't hurt. cleveland is genuinely getting better
  3. one key difference with Borchard == the Whiffs. Until he can cut bcak on that, he's not going to be a very productive player. he doesn't get on base enough. He's a good, but not GREAT outfielder. Doesn't steal many bases. Power is his primary plus. And the whiffs have got to be reduced.
  4. Can THAT possibly be accurate that he threw 23 pitches and 19 were strikes? He couldn't do that in warmup tosses with Eric Gregg calling balls and strikes. What's up with that?
  5. Why would Colorado want to trade Kennedy?
  6. Borchard is a prospect, not a great prospect. This is his third year at AAA and he still strikes out too much. He's basically had one good month. He's a bit injury prone. He is a good guy who plays with intensity and could still put it together. But his high strikeout totals have been a constant throughout his career and he's definitely getting old to be a prospect. If we have a chance to get Garcia for Borchard and one other minor leaguer I do it. Besides, we have Jeremy Reed, Brian Anderson, Ryan Sweeney, Thomas Brice and several other potential outfielders. Nothing against Joe, but Garcia would fix a major pitching dilemma. And you might be able to sign him because of his relationship with Ozzie.
  7. thoughts and prayers to Wimpy. We thank him for 1983 and his fine career, for his years of being on TV, for being a great ambassador for the Sox and for the way he has dealt with genuine adversity.
