  1. Well, it wasn’t much fun while it lasted. Very unlikely to get out of this one.
  2. 16 base runners in 7 innings. Normally, you would expect to score 7-10 runs. They have 4. 3-10 w RISP is not horrible, but once again, they never score with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 out.
  3. Diekman lucky things didn’t go worse considering how few strikes he threw.
  4. This team seems to be looking for sliders off the corner. Strange. 9 lob plus 2 gidp. Can’t say they didn’t have chances.
  5. So far between the two teams 11 singles, 8 walks, 3 hbp 7 runs 12 lob. Can’t be zzzzzzz at the old ballpark.
  6. 11 base runners in 5 innings, 3 runs. That’s not east to do. Plus, one of the runs is a complete gift.
  7. What is going on with Carlos Hernandez? He always looks like Cy Young against us.
  8. Yeah, when Getz says part of the Birmingham Project is to get all of the guys to buy into the White Sox philosophy, one hopes it’s not “groundball through the hole on a 3-1 count.”
  9. Love this. Kath is a surprise, but given the progress he has made recently, this will be a nice standard to measure himself for the off-season. Nice to see Veras, Gladney, and Mieses included. I suspect this means Charlie Romero is in fact a thing, but I suppose Andy Barkett will be there too.
  10. Yep, much needed thread. Everyone in this org should go except Getz, Katz, and maybe Southpaw. I’d get rid of him too, but knowing Jerry he’d bring back Ribbie, Rhubarb, and Don Cooper dressed as Waldo the White Sox Wolf.
  11. Add KW to the list. Also, before you start firing the analysts, shouldn’t the Sox hire some?
  12. Interesting that Vaughn is the one who sits. I hope his face isn’t messed up from last night. Poor roster construction means that at least one of Vaughn, Pollock, Eloy, and Abreu has to sit against righties when Robert is actually healthy. They need to address this in the offseason. My first choice is to get rid of Pollock. That is also my second choice. I can see arguments to get rid of Abreu or Vaughn or Eloy. I kinda favor either letting Abreu go or trading Vaughn. Sox have too many 1b types.
  13. I am also very interested in Eloy's future with the team, but there's a whole thread about that. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?/topic/113066-eloy-is-dead-again/&page=6 I come to the future sox board to get away from all the disappointment with the mlb team.
  14. Maybe we should merge all these threads into a massive "fire everyone" thread. Hahn, Menechino, and TLR should all go. None of that's gonna happen unless KW goes. KW is not going anywhere unless JR goes. Mellody Hobson/George Lucas buying controlling interest in the team is now my New Hope (pun intended). They don't have to become Steve Cohen-like spenders. Just bringing the F.O. up to 2010 level in analytics would make a huge difference.
  15. Interesting debate amongst Popeye, and Sosa. Popeye and Sosa are incredibly similar players -- Both went from never walking to reasonable approaches in AA (seriously, is Charlie Romero a thing?), both are better at 2b but can play ss, both have slightly above average tools but those play up cuz they're smart players. Popeye has more useable speed, Sosa has more raw power. They need to hold on to the right guy here. You'll recall the Sox had Saladino, Yolmer, and Semien all coming up together and... they chose poorly.
  16. Severino gave up 5 runs in a third of an inning. The fact that he's still on the 40 man tells you all you need to know about the Sox pitching depth.
  17. He's not sexy, but Tommy Sommer has been decent.
  18. Hopefully he settles in and gets ready for his next shot at the majors.
