  1. The streak is ended. Despite a horrific 9th fro Adisyn Coffey, Kanny holds on and wins 5-3, while W-S also survives a shaky 9th to win 10-3.
  2. My count is 14 (AA) + 6 (AAA) + 1 (mlb) = 21. Maybe I'm wrong about how many he hit in Birmingham.
  3. Bummer pitched a scoreless inning for Charlotte. He'll come up in plenty of time to get some meaningless innings in by the end of the year.
  4. Sosa Home Run. I believe that's 21 for him at all levels.
  5. Bilous gives up a 5 spot in the 3rd with 2 walks and 2 HRs. Hate to harp on the guy, but how the heck can he stay on the 40 man?
  6. LOL on Andrus at leadoff. In a related note: at what point do they just shut this thing down? No point in rushing Anderson back. Maybe give Moncada, Robert, and Grandal the rest of the year off as well to rest them up for next year? Possibly release Andrus, bench Harrison and let Romy and Lenyn play out the string. At this point tanking the last month makes a lot of sense. But I suppose the guys they've got are already doing that.
  7. Charlotte facing an mlb arm, Luis Patino. Sosa has a single and Micker has a HR.
  8. Good point. I forgot that these games are supposed to matter.
  9. This is absolutely insane. I am a manager at my work. The first thing we always talk about when it comes to any press release is timing it so our staff are told by us before they find out on Twitter. That is just basic "Management for Dummies" stuff.
  10. Is it odd to make these moves literally the day before rosters expand?
  11. So what's your solution? Keep them all and have the worst OF defense known to man? Trade Sheets, the only lefty in their line up? Trade Eloy? Move Vaughn to 2b? Currently, the rules don't allow 5 DHs. I like Abreu, Vaughn, Eloy, and Sheets. They just don't make sense together on this roster.
  12. If the park is going to benefit lefties, they have to make room for Sheets, not as an outfielder. It also bodes well for Colas and possibly Mieses. They cannot go into next year with Abreu, Eloy, Vaughn, and Sheets on the team. Eloy is the guy I would keep. Either let Abreu walk, trade Vaughn or both.
  13. Currently on their way to an 0-4, trailing an aggregate 19-1. Good grief.
  14. Humidors in non-Colorado ballparks are stupid. Manfred gonna Manfred.
  15. I think every player at every level being represented by MLBPA will help preserve the number of jobs in the minors. They just contracted last year with an ugly negotiation with MiLB owners. Doubt they want to go through that again a year later. Once MLBPA gets involved, further contraction is going to be super tricky. I hope this goes through. Minor league players need a minimum standard of income/quality of life.
  16. I was aware they wasted a lot of money, but $85 million for 0 WAR? Sox never pay top dollar for FA but for the same dollars they could have had Harper, Machado, AND Wheeler. Giving big bucks to mid-level players and relievers is always stupid. Pay top dollar for impact players and then fill in with a deep farm system and smart waiver wire transactions. This number alone justifies getting rid of the entire front office.
  17. And their horrible bullpen gives up a 5 spot in the 9th. 0-6 here we come.
  18. Birmingham comes roaring back behind Colas and Mieses both going 2-3. They lead 5-3.
  19. Mena give up two singles but gets out of the 2nd. He's throwing tons of strikes. So far the Braves have a BABIP of .600, so we'll see how it goes.
  20. Grandal singled, Sosa walked, 2 stranded.
  21. 3 pitches, double, double, single for Ellis, Montgomery, and Colas. 2-0.
  22. Ketel Marte's numbers are really down.
