Dalquist looks shockingly under control today. No runs in 4 innings.

Nightengale: Gio won't be on 2024 White Sox
If they trade TA, they should prioritize pitching. Dodgers have three guys who are close -- Pepiot, Stone, and Miller. I would take any of those three. Gio would get you something. They should start shopping him now while he's still pitching well. Internally, there's not a lot. I do not believe in Burke. Mena is very young, but he has plus control and pretty good command. I could see him coming fast. Cannon will be up by the end of next year. Don't know how much impact he'll have, though. Matthew Thompson is teasing that he may be a big leaguer. Under the radar lefties like Sommer and Murphy might be depth options by next year? Other than that, you can count on a couple of scrap heap signings.

Moncada 3-3 with a HR. Reyes really trying to earn the call up. Colas with a double.

Gonna have to be patient with Pallete because of the TJ, but Cannon has passed him for me. WS up 3-0, Veras up to .327. Gladney runs a lot better than you'd expect. Scored after a walk. Those two are screaming up the Sox very thin prospect list.

Eloy Jimenez has appendix removed, out 4-6 weeks per Grifol
Should we open the Trade Winds forum early this year?

Frazier might be getting a call soon.

Cannon cruising. He's only thrown 65 pitches through 6. You gotta let him throw the 7th, right?

Watching Cannon now at W-S. Looks more like a potential MLB starter to me than Burke. 96 fairly straight but decent breaking stuff and good command. Burke throws a lot of non-competitive pitches. I don't think they are doing him any favors by starting him in AAA.

5/6 Sox @ Reds 5:40PM CT - NBCSCH
Carlos Perez was a late scratch for Charlotte. Might be coming up to allow Grandal to DH more?

5/6 Games
So far at Charlotte, Colas has a hit, Moncada walked. Burke is walking quite a few. Has Mena passed him as the second starter up?

Charlotte is getting no hit, so there’s that.

This team is such a train wreck, I doubt anyone is walking away from this.

Hooray, back up to .333 ball!

Lopez gives up at least one run every time he pitches. Not a great choice here.

5/4- Sox vs Twins, 1:10
Is Anderson hurt? Or rest while still ramping up?

And That's a White Sox 3 Game Win Streak And Series Win !
Nice save by Middleton. Further proof that maybe don’t spend a huge percentage of your budget on bullpen arms.

5/3 Games
The difference between AAA and the majors for hitters is steep. See also, Henderson, Gunnar. Hopefully, these guys can keep working and get going. Sox will need them eventually.

Gonna be tough if Alberto becomes our starting 3b

Sox explore immense depth of their 7th place AAA team, make 11 transactions
Gotta say, 13 under, 25th in OPS, "Let's add Hamilton and Colome to the 40 man" is one of the dumbest things I've ever encountered. Words. Fail. Scrape the entire thing into Lake Michigan. Fire everyone and find the baseball equivalent of Ryan Poles.

VAUGHN vs ABREU APRIL RESULTS
To be fair to the Sox, Vaughn was the 3rd player in a 2-player draft. Sadly, for as much as they sucked during the rebuild, they never got the first pick once. In that draft Adley Rutschman was head and shoulders above everybody. Witt was a distant 2nd. If they didn't take Vaughn, it would have been CJ Abrams. So far, he's meh. JJ Bleday is a bust. Riley Greene has been... okay. With 20/20 hindsight, you'd take Corbin Carroll, but he was from a non-baseball hotbed, there were questions about his power at the time. BUt it would have been a great pick. Same with my guy Kelenic. I guess it's fair to say that a philosophy of going for-near-to-the-majors, skills-over-tools players like Vaughn and Madrigal doomed the rebuild. Hopefully, whoever replaces Hahn & company is more like Poles. Traits over performance.

2023 MiLB catch all
Gladney is proof that a) you should draft some younger HS kids b) never give up on hard workers. He came in super raw, but he has always been a model of hard work and commitment to improving. I can't say the guy is going to make the majors, but he definitely looks the part and is fun to root for. I saw him in Kanny last year. No question he was the most popular player on that team. I wish him nothing but the best.

4/30- Rays vs Sox VII, 1:10
It's not like Graveman, Middleton, and Lopez are throwing lights out. Who's really getting anyone out? Kelly, sometimes, and Santos in limited, low leverage situations. The rest of the pen has been a Crimean oil storage facility.

4/30- Rays vs Sox VII, 1:10
Would have played anyway. Really was in for Benintendi. Sadly, Haseley and Benintendi are very similar players. College guys who were top ten picks based on potential to play center and big power years as Juniors with aluminum bats. Both are sub-optimal exit velo guys who are best in left field. One of them has a much better track record, but is also gonna make $75 mil.
