  1. LaRussa has managed this game like he has managed most of this season: Like it doesn't matter whether they win or not. It's August and he's managing it like it's a spring training game.
  2. You gotta pinch hit here, right? With Moncada?
  3. Compare and contrast how hard the Sox outs have been compared to the Blue Jays non-Semien hits in this game. I think the baseball Gods want us to lose.
  4. Answered my own question. I believe they have allowed 18 base runners and gotten 18 outs in the series. That's a .500 OBP. Which obviously is not getting the job done.
  5. Goddamn it! This team is impossible to watch.
  6. What is the Blue Jays OBP against the Sox pen in the series? Feels like they’re hitting .500
  7. I bet they keep Zavala and drop a pitcher.
  8. Clearly they are going to limit starter innings moving forward, so they're keeping Wright. I think they'll flip that for the playoff roster. 12 pitchers max is my guess. I hate watching them back into the playoffs, personally. Even if it's not predictive for playoff success, watching the last two and a half months has been a drag. I have TA's dead legs and I'm not even playing.
  9. The old rules would have really benefited the Sox this year. I can see them using 32 spots this year. Crick has pitched very well in CLT, I just don’t see them using a roster spot on a guy who is leaving after the season.
  10. Sox were developing him at 3rd. They never thought he’d play ss. Who knows? I do believe that an OF of Eloy, Robert, and Tatis would work, tho.
  11. Robert looked sensational. Moncada seems to be picking it up a bit. Eloy is Eloy. I am hopeful that getting TA back may light a fire under them and then Grandal will be the final piece of the puzzle. Would hate to see the sputtering of the last two months continue into the postseason. Even when they win they ruin my night.

  13. Great list so far. Love to see you guys jumping on the Wilfred Veras train. He seems intriguing. Can't wait for the top 15.
  14. 12 LOB and 3 thrown out on the bases. Doing everything possible to lose.
  15. Sox finding new ways not to score. They should have like 10 runs in this game.
  16. While Kimbrel has struggled, Heuer has a 1.64 ERA for the Cubs. May be a usage problem in the Sox pen? Didn’t like the trade at the time, still don’t like it. I think we end up missing Pilkington too. When Hahn “goes for it”, he always overpays. Some of the worst trades in the last 10 years in MLB have been the Sox overpaying for veterans.

Romy Gonzalez 4-5 with 3 doubles. In 2 games, he is 6-9 with 5 XBH. That’ll work.

I think Romy Gonzalez’s future is as a multi-position guy with power and speed. Non-switch hitting Leury Garcia. Strikeouts may be too high for an every day guy.

I think Romy Gonzalez > Mendick.
  20. Woo hoo! A hit with a man in scoring position!
