Even worse in Portland.

I would be fine with that. I don’t want them to trade Ramos or Rodriguez who may end up 1 and 2 on their prospect list by the end of the year.

True. Moncada and Abreu slumping lately. Eloy would be a nice addition, but gotta be patient.

Losing half your starting lineup has a tendency to do that.

Playing 2b as well. He’s been on fire. Looks like he and Cabrera Weaver are trying to be the guys who emerge alongside Rodriguez and Krogman. Misses starting to hit a little too.

Yep, they used that go bring up Goodwin.

Anyone know why Ramos is DHing every game? I get they want to give Gladney time at 3rd, but not having a top prospect in a barren system playing the field seems odd.

Offensive dead weight
I think Eaton may be toast, but Vaughn and Mercedes are both rookies in the toughest hitting environment in MLB since the '60s. Maybe we've got to be a little more patient with them, especially Vaughn. Moncada, Eloy, and Robert all had struggles their first years. If you want the rewards later, you gotta live through the growing pains. I'll admit Mercedes has been brutal for the last month. I could see giving Lamb a bunch of his at bats against tough righthanders, but Vaughn's gotta play through it. At least until Eloy comes back.

Interesting splits. He absolutely crushes left-handed pitching. That would be more useful if we had more left-handed hitters, but guys who can play 6 positions and have that ability have a chance.

Krogman’s a good looking hitter. Question is: can he cut the strikeouts down to something mildly reasonable?

I don’t think the offense has been bad. Just not lucky. Engel hit the heck out of the ball, for instance. That’s baseball.

Who’s that?

Sox have really let Detroit hang around. 1-9 with RISP, 10 guys left. We’ve been 1 hit from putting this away for the last 4 innings. Hope it doesn’t bite us in the ass. Couple of hard hit balls by Vaughn and Collins, what are you gonna do?

Will Hahn be more active this deadline?
I believe both Eloy and Robert will be back, therefore I do not want to give up a lot to get a right-handed hitting OF. Prefer Escobar or Frazier depending on the cost.

At what point do we stop scoreboard watching a team trailing by 14 games?

Adam Eaton v. Joc Pederson v. Nomar Mazara
Um, I was kidding.

Should have signed Goodwin to begin with? I dunno. Weird year.

Hell, at this rate, they're both better than Eaton. Who knew???

I rescind anything negative I ever said about signing Goodwin.

2021 MLB Draft Thread
JUst to put everyone's expectations into context: Keith Law did a redraft of the 2011 draft and there were some great names: Betts, Lindor, Cole -- but the 21, 22, 23 best players in the redraft were Joe Musgrove, Dylan Bundy, and Nick Ahmed. If you get a major leaguer at 22, you should feel pretty good about it.
