2nd ab was a walk.

Probably scouted Toro when they played us. He killed us, but hasn’t done much against others. Clearly they are ready to move on from Seager, but to trade your closer for his replacement after he just beat your division rival with a homer?! Well, Mariners fans will not be pleased.

Given the K rate in the game these days, trading defense for offense makes some sense. KC’s rf is O’Hearn, so not better. I predict that Collins’ defense is the one we’re worried about with Cease on the mound.

Line up is out. Eloy in left, AV in right. Sheets DH. Goodwin in center. Could be an adventure, but we need offense.

The bottom third of this order is really rough.

Oof. Guardians sounds like a fictional baseball team in a movie not about baseball. Gotham City Guardians. I mean, there was an XFL team named Guardians and that's sort of a fiction football league not about football. I would have gone Spiders.

They actually have a lot of options for RF/DH between Engel/Goodwin/Vaughn/Grandal/Sheets/Burger/Yermin. If Hamilton is on the team. he's a defensive replacement only. I like the flexibility because it allows TLR to play the match ups in the postseason instead of stubbornly sticking to a set line up against a tough righthander. I would like to see an 2b upgrade as well, but I think they can win with what they got if their starting pitchers stay hot.

Having both catchers in the game certainly did not work. Gotta have 3 catchers to make one of them your DH.

I question Hamilton. Give me Goodwin and Sheets as the last two. I could see Lamb instead of Sheets. Then rosters expand in September, bring back either Burger or Mendick. Next year, Leury, Lamb, Hamilton, Goodwin are all FA’s. Plenty of room for Sheets on that team.

I would keep both.
