QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 20, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) Doesn't say, but I think that's BIG BEN standing up. I don't think so because Ben doesn't wear the "goalie" style mask. He and AJ are old school with the mask and backwars helmet style.

Cuban Comedy and Pitching Connection This could be a very fun(ny) season

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) Hey, when does Grohl's new queen of the stoneage CD come out? I've heard a few songs and it sounds better then their last album which was great. Lullabies to Paralyze comes out March 22nd, but Grohl isn't drumming on this album

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 08:06 AM) Muse is awful, completely horrible. Someone needs to lecture Bellamy on how not to whine. Can the same guy lecture the Interpol guy on how not to drone? Shockingly enough Muse is one of the very few bands played on the radio that I like. They actually have musical ability and talet, which of course means they won't be very popular for long. If you have talent and you're on the radio they'll weed you out pretty fast. I was surprised at home heavy the song "Stockholm Syndrome" was. The begining drum part is very Dream Theater-esque. I watch some live video of them when they played the X-mas concert out here and was blow away by their performence. I didn't even know it was only 3 guys in the band, and while he may "whine" (not as bad as your Brand News, New Found Glory's and Coheed and Cambria's) that motherf***er can SHRED. They blew everyone out of the water that played that night, although that nights bands were all pretty weak to begin with...

General Patton vs. The X-ecutioners Crazy little piece of well...craziness. It's an "album" if you can call it that with Mike Patton(Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) and The X-ecutioners. The actual songs on the album which are all labeled "Joint Special Operations Tast Force" are really cool. The rest of the songs are basically combonations of the X-men scratching, weird clips and sound effects, clips from war movies etc., and Mike Patton scatting, and beat boxing and generally f***ing with his voice in many insane insane ways. If you know Mike Patton and his work this kind of stuff won't be strange to you, but if you're not used to it, it may take a bit to get used to. All in all it's a fun album to listen to, but mainly for the open minded person.

****OFFICIAL SOXTALK 2005 PREDICTIONS THREAD****
Cali replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I predict I won't post my predictions until Spring Training is almost over -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 06:20 AM) Wow, no one is really underground huh? Where's that other thread that had more new release, non radio music going? Well you'll hardly ever hear the stuff I reccomended so far in this thread, but it is all screamy and the "devil's" music. Todays wake up call: The Haunted "rEVOLEr" A little "good morning" from the Swedish Trashers.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) I like pretty much anything but Rap. Somehow it doesn't seem like music when all you hear is "f*** this" "f*** that". Or this is how much jewlery I have, these are kinds of cars I own, this is how many b****es I bang, or whatever slang word they turned into a fad and it's just repeated over and over and over again ...Like "Lean Back" "Drop It Like It's hot" etc. As for me recently, as recent as right now: The Dillinger Escape Plan "Miss Machine" Head Automatica "Decadence" Tool "Aenima"

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) What in the hell are you talking about. I watched the family guy pilot. It a classic episode and totally hilarious, I was hooked the moment. That courtroom scene with Peter and the welfare scam. "I was going to report it but my favorite episode of different strokes was on." Face facts buddy. Family Guy was gold from DAY 1 and American Dad has started off as a stinker. IMO it could come back and be ok but don't pretend the Pilot of Family Guy sucked. Compared to the later and better episodes it was not very good. The pilot is a lot different from where it would up. Storylines, Cutbacks, Voice actors(mainly Meg) Voice sound(mainly Lois) are different. That doesn't mean anything. Most Pilots aren't really good compared to later episdoes and understandable so, Pilots are filmed long before they are picked up. Hairstyles may be different etc. I mean look at the Seinfeld Pilot compared to any of the classics. Family Guy wasn't gold from the start and even Seth MacFarland would admit that. He even said on the FG DVD commentaries and other interviews that he didn't really think the show really started to gel until season 3.

I liked it. Just look at the Family Guy Pilot. It sucked ass, give AD a little more time. Can't wait for the Seth MacFarland Animated Power Hour starting May 1st

I've had a reoccuring dream, actually it's more of a nightmare, where it's opening day and I forgot to order the MLB Extra Innings package, and I can't find a phone to call my local cable company. That's some scary s*** right there.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) Yeah, I can see how religous folks would be somewhat offended by something like that. :rolly Used to be, used It's just a name though some people take it way too serious. The name is not indicative of their beliefs. There's a band called God Forbid, and when asked about the name they just said that they thought it sounded cool, so they went with it.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 3, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Just a guess here. But since "Lamb of God" is term commonly used to represent Jesus Christ, they felt it was innappropriate to be used in any other way. Since, they own the venue they have every right in the world to do what they did. It probably doesn't help that the band used to be called Burn the Priest either

QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 11:35 PM) ummmm, I hate religious fanatics as much as the next guy but they own the place. I hate when the whole free speech argument gets thrown around like a dirty whore, they own the motherf***er, they can tell whoever the f*** they want that they're not welcome in their arena. That's true but what not cancel the whole show why just Lamb of God? I mean take a look at this: Neither band are satanists or something. But the church obviously aren't doing the logical thing like look at the lyrics or listen to the songs, they're just being rash about it and looking at the name and sound of the music. You'd think that picture alone would make them cancel the entire show, but they would never do that because they would lose money and that's all they care about to begin with.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Cali is that Sarah Silverman in your avatar? It certainly is.

Good. I prefer that the Sox keep the KW mentality of being "Under the Radar", no one will give them any attention, and they'll (hopefully) come out of nowhere and surprise the "experts".

Man that sucks. Some of my first words as a baby were "Heeeeeeeere's Johnny!" (Just more sounding like a baby, and less coherent)

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 05:56 AM) Sorry, but that may have been the dumbest post I have seen on here. Watch the show a few times and you will see how bad things can get. Well I'm glad I could provide it. And no, since all reality TV is s***, and I prefer not to "feed the beast" I will not watch it a few times or ever.

Every MLK day all I can think of is Chris Rocks bit about how he stood for non-violence, but if you're of Martin Luther King Blvd. anywhere in the country there's some violence going on. So funny, because it's so true.
-
I never watch the show, because it's reality crap. But how bad can these peoples lives be? The OWN a home. That's not a easy accomplishment. How bout Extreme Makeover Apartment Edition. You take the $$$ you would have used to renovate a house, and give it to a family that's stuck in a s***ty apartment and they get to use it as a down payment for their own house.
