Who's talking about either of those guys? I'm saying if they signed Bregman (or add someone else now) and moved Shaw back to his natural position of 2B.

I think the idea is they would keep him down in minors, get the extra year of control, and then maybe use him semi-regularly around the infield. Or a trade of Nico Hoerner.

I know people kept saying it when he was coming over but the comparison wasn't really close.

He's only thrown like 3 innings professionally so not even. He's more like the Cuban Matt Davidson.

Seeing a screenshot just yesterday of the projected 2024 lineup going into the season, it looks like an All Star lineup compared to the projected 2025 lineup.

Yeah they also currently have an OF projection of Reynolds in LF, Cruz in CF, and Pham in RF. Not that Pham should stop any team from trading for Robert but they gave him $4M so doubt the Pirates would replace him with someone else.

Yeah, only way you can maybe get more back is if you also take back Marte but it doesn't seem like they would do that.
