I think it would be agreed to and negotiated between after a trade and post-season. That is, if he doesn't change his mind and just pitches. Short version: no, because it's not a part of the trade.

That's how I am reading it. In fact, on the MLBTR podcast episode yesterday when they talked about the Sox and the trade deadline, they suggested this as a possibility for him. With the uncertainty of his innings and wear and tear on his body and wanting to stay healthy to get paid one day, sign an extension with a team to pitch in the post-season.

If you can buy low on him, sure. But I'm sure the Jays would rather hold than sell low.

Yeah, Robert isn’t (and shouldn’t) bring back what Soto did for the Nats but it will be better than the proposed package.

Makes no sense that we traded for both Fletcher and DeLoach in the offseason and neither are even playing in the MLB. Both are already older and at least one should be up. I guess when Pham (and possibly Robert) is moved, there will be at bats.

Don’t know if it is credible but it’s easy to say the teams are talking. One is a buyer, one is a seller. If a trade doesn’t happen, you can say they just couldn’t agree on a deal. Don’t look too much into that account’s (and others) posts.

Yeah I wouldn't move him just to move him. He's been bad and I would rather just hold onto him and see if he pitches better the rest of the season/first half of next year.
