Sammy Peralta and Nicky Lopez clear waivers & elect free agency
40-man roster fat as I'm concerned. Just as he was for the Braves last year.

Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
Yeah and trading Crochet, your best pitcher in a season where you loss 120+ games, makes you closer to that 120+ loss team than 86 win team.

Nah if you’re not going to spend on anyone good, play these guys. Montgomery should also be up at SS at some point.

Between Vargas or Ramos covering 3B, Sosa likely at 2B, you can start Baldwin and have Amaya as a cheap backup.

Roki Sasaki Free Agency - Dodgers vs Blue Jays for Roki's heart
If the rules were the same across both drafts, yes.

I wouldn’t do it either but until Crochet is traded without him, the possibility exists.

Idk I think I’d rather hit free agency sooner and not deal with minor league travel.

I kinda think if they do take Benintendi back, they’d have to move one of their OFs since they have a lot of lefties and Abreu being a part of a deal would make sense.

Worth noting that they tried at the deadline but someone out of Boston reported they couldn't really take on Benintendi's contract as part of it. Easier to maneuver a budget in the offseason than mid-season. Edit: I know it's not a popular idea as I also think that is stupid when the payroll is going to be so low but still seems like a possibility.

Free Agent Signing Estimates per Athletic
Are they for sure? I know, for example, in Moncada's case, he either gets his $29M salary in 2025 or a buyout. Is the buyout for sure already paid or is it paid in 2025, which the option was for? If you look at it like that, I get why it would be calculated in the 2025 payroll. The good thing is, at least according to Spotrac, is it doesn't count against the Luxury Tax number.

Dude is set to be a free agent at like 27 with very limited innings on his arm. I don't know if I would completely say this.

Ryan Fuller Hired as Director of Hitting
Lol yeah. First thought when I saw his name. It’s why I had to share the info. Possibly @Greg Hibbard’s profile pic at one point?

White Sox claim Penn Murfee
More than likely this guy is DFA’d at some point this offseason.

White Sox claim Penn Murfee
God yeah. They never churned over the bottom of the 40-man while you see teams like Tampa and Dodgers constantly churning and burning.

CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
Do you really need to commit to $30/month when it’s just baseball season? It’s only $10 more but still just a thought I guess.

Andrew Vaughn
His projected arb number is what, $6.3M? Finding it difficult to pay him that.
