Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
So in the quote where it says that he wants "a starters workload over pitching out of the bullpen," does that mean prepping as a starter and starting for an inning or two is fine or he wants to go 5+ innings (or deep as possible) into every game? I would think if its the former, then pitching in the playoffs would be no problem right?

I probably would have held onto that and waited to see if my new team was even playoff bound.

O's, Phils Swap Austin Hays for Seranthony Dominguez
They should still make a move for a SP but I don't think they will deal Kjerstad or Cowser to get one.

Yeah I know they were looking for a platoon player. And he has a .894 OPS against lefties this year. To compare, Pham has an .848 OPS. He'll be moved somewhere to platoon.

Randy Arozarena traded to SEA
Hope you're right @Y2Jimmy0!

7/25 - Sox/Rangers
2024: $17,100,000 (about 2/3 paid now) 2025: $17,100,000 2026: $17,100,000 2027: $15,100,000 I don't know how much they would have to pay for another team to take him. But I would imagine he won't be DFA'd until about May/June 2026 if he is still terrible and no hope of trading him.

MLB front offices under the most pressure, aka WERE #1
He shouldn't have really even sniffed the majors until 2022.

7/25 - Sox/Rangers
Agreed. Higher probability they package him with Robert/Crochet (they won't...I think) than trade him right now.

Come on JeDi. Do your thing! Edit: for real though. Guy is the king of making the Winter Meetings and Trade Deadline fun haha

Randy Arozarena traded to SEA
I was going to say, looking at the numbers overall, he isn't an upgrade over France. But I guess Arozarena has only been good from June to this point. They just called up Locklear for 1B though.

Randy Arozarena traded to SEA
Yeah they still need bats and still have the ammo to make moves. We play Seattle this weekend. Would be nice if Robert had some great games and left Chicago with the team.

This is kind of how I see it playing out…

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
This. Or keep him on a starter’s schedule and let him go an inning or 2 and then have someone else pitch a bulk of the game. Would also be easier to manage in September when rosters expand. The Dodgers could probably do that with all of their pitching options.

Randy Arozarena traded to SEA
Come on Seattle. You know you want a starting OF of Arozarena, J-Rod, and Robert.

It’s really on par with being a fan of this franchise ha

Randy Arozarena traded to SEA
This feels like most other trade deadlines/winter meetings where we expect our big chips to be dealt only for nothing to happen as teams go with alternate options. Edit: his numbers on the season aren’t even great but he’s been hot the past month.

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
Many posters have been skeptical about extending him for high dollars. You were never alone. There’s a literally a thread about it. Team friendly deal or trade has always been it for me personally.

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
Yeah, it seems like if you’re guaranteeing him money to pitch in the postseason this year, he better taking some sort of discount to get those guaranteed dollars.

You can definitely argue that they did him a favor by getting him service time earlier. But I think most of us would have preferred to not see him in 2020, start in the minors in 2021/2022 with maybe a call up late 22 (also all injury/health dependent).
