    Oh yeah, I figured $3M tops. Guy is lucky he didn’t get an MiLB deal after his last few years.

    Very slow work week for me this week (until the new month begins) so I already know they will pull off a deal around 10PM on Thursday or Friday at 10AM.

    I don't think so. He came over at the age of 28. And if he was a free agent in Japan, there wouldn't have been a posting fee. I haven't looked if he was just a free agent yet or not.

    Could see it too I just wish they didn’t decide to fill their rotation with 2 #5s last week. Matz may end up being moved to the pen or traded though so there still might be another spot open.

    I meant in a deal back for Cease. But the 2 bigger pieces in a deal being pitching also isn't the end of the world.

    The 2 bigger pieces being position players and then 2 lesser pieces being pitching wouldn't be terrible but trading an arm like Cease, I feel like you need one of those big pieces to be an arm.

    I like the fit there. I would have preferred for them to sign another mid-rotation type arm than the two number 5's they signed last week (Lynn and Gibson).
