Cease To Padres per Passan
2.4 is an ace…oof. Although, he was 6.4 in 2022, according to Bref. Maybe in a better org, he’s closer to 6.4 than 2.4.

Where is that guy?

Reynaldo López signs 3 yr deal with ATL
Cease at $8.55M (split the difference between Spotrac and MLBTR estimate), about $20M over the next 2 years, doesn’t look bad at all.

Cease To Padres per Passan
This team probably won't do much other than bargin signings and fliers lol idk if anyone would consider that something to look forward to.
-
Cease To Padres per Passan
If he was even available, sure. But the Dodgers depth was low going into the off-season. Guy was penciled into CF.

Lance Lynn to StL on 1 year deal
Yeah, I don't think it's that bad. Maybe a little more than you would like but that's the market I guess. Also, a team that has so many friendly contracts can afford to overpay like this every now and then.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Yeah, this should actually be considered heavily to be honest and not getting enough attention. He probably doesn't have anywhere near the 2023 he did with the Sox as he did the Dodgers.

Cease To Padres per Passan
And go ahead and continue to give yourself all the pats on the back you want. Doesn’t mean he was ever a realistic target for our Sox. Dodgers OF at the end of 2022 was him and Betts. That’s it lol they were counting on him.

Us waiting at the computer for Cali to tell us who he suggested the Sox trade away for Outman last offseason. Easy to say "trade for this guy" when you're not the one actually trying to line up a trade that works for both teams.

Reynaldo López signs 3 yr deal with ATL
Didn't someone near the trade deadline last year report that talking to teams' scouts, the thought was "get some of those guys out of Chicago?" haha

Reynaldo López signs 3 yr deal with ATL
Yeah, we might have to just sign both Montas and Severino (I originally thought maybe you use 1 rotation spot on one of these guys, not both) at high AAV 1 year deals. Might be looking at a rotation of: Montas, Severino, Kopech, Soroka, Touki to start next year (also, depending on what we get for Cease, that 5th spot could be an MLB ready SP from Dodgers).

Nah, didn't really prove people wrong. The ability was there. We just didn't have anyone of interest that the Dodgers would have wanted. They were slashing payroll (with the uncertainty of how the Bauer situation was going to shake out). He was a guy they wanted to count on. They weren't just going to hand him over for garbage prospects/players because you wanted him. If the Dodgers traded him, it would have been in a package for a proven, good MLB player. Sox didn't have much of that to trade in their competitive window. This is the part you continue to overlook for some reason.

Sure you don't, Stone Pony.

You're Steve Stone, confirmed.

Insider or not, I think it's hard for anyone to say for sure.

Giolito to Braves confirmed.

Cease To Padres per Passan
3 years of control at this point is probably the turn off for some people.
-
Cease To Padres per Passan
Yeah they shouldn't be using this trade to fill holes on the MLB roster. If the best package they receive involves an MLB ready player then so be it.

Because TA was awful and worthless.

Cease To Padres per Passan
Yeah I kinda don’t want to use one of our last chips for another catcher.
-
Cease To Padres per Passan
Just as thin as they were at the beginning of last offseason.

Cease To Padres per Passan
I wouldn’t want him to be the centerpiece but I’d take him. I feel like the Dodgers are thin in the OF though.
